Discover the impressive Gorges du Tarn
Discover the impressive Gorges du Tarn from the campsite, one of the most spectacular natural areas in France. Here the Tarn River cuts deep through the landscape and forms a canyon with steep limestone cliffs and clear water. Head out and experience for yourself how diverse this area is, whether you walk along the banks, go out on the water, or stop in one of the characteristic villages along the river. In the sky, you have a chance to see the imposing griffon vulture soaring above the cliffs, reintroduced in the 1990s and now one of the most distinctive birds of this area. Come and discover for yourself the combination of rugged and impressive nature of the Gorges du Tarn.

Discover the Cévennes straight from the campsite
From the campsite, the adventure begins almost immediately in Cévennes National Park, a vast natural area full of variety and tranquillity. You walk through chestnut forests, past dry-stone walls and over bare rocky ridges where vultures circle high above the landscape. The GR70 Route Stevenson runs right through the heart of the park and lets you experience how large and varied this area is. Anyone who wants to explore further can follow marked day routes towards the Causses or the slopes of Mont Lozère. Along the way, you pass abandoned farming hamlets and natural springs where you can refill your bottle, while the peaceful, unspoiled landscape and fresh mountain air clearly show what makes the Cévennes so special.
Visit the local market of Florac
On Wednesday morning, the center of Florac comes to life with stalls full of local cheese, honey, sausage and vegetables from farmers in Lozère. The market is compact and easy to navigate, but offers enough to return home with full bags. After that, you can settle down on one of the terraces on Place du Tour for a coffee, while village life drifts slowly past you.
Discover the view from Mont Aigoual
On Mont Aigoual, in the heart of Cévennes National Park, stands one of France’s last manned weather stations at an altitude of 1567 meters. The road there winds past beech forests and open plateaus. At the top, you can visit the small meteorological museum and learn more about the station. In clear weather, the view stretches from the Pyrenees to the Alps and offers an impressive panorama of the surroundings.

We had a spot by the lake. We could just walk right into the stream—it was wonderful. A fantastic place. The facilities were top-notch—always clean—and there was a brand-new pool with a few water slides. They even had daily entertainment for the kids in the morning and for adults as well. The front desk staff was very friendly; they could even speak Dutch. Really nice.
Highly recommended.this is a translation, click here for the original
Heel vriendelijke receptie, kon zelfs Nederlands praten. Erg leuk.

It's a shame there wasn't any interaction with the campground staff. The welcome was impersonal.

A prime location on the banks of the Tarn with two direct access points. A delight.
A nice water park with slides and a well-designed pool with a beach area
As for the rest:
- horrified to find a packet of rat poison on the floor of the bungalow under the bed, and my baby, who’s crawling, covered in dust; just a half-hearted apology from the front desk staff, who told me I was mistaken and that it was for ants; no compensation offered. Didn’t really feel heard;
- the bungalows are below the road, far from ideal
- no designated space for evening entertainment other than the bar; no seats for the concert; the road runs between the stage and the bar.
- Not enough lounge chairs and umbrellas by the poolthis is a translation, click here for the original
Une situation privilégiée au bord du tarn avec deux accès directs. Un délice.
Espace aquatique sympathique avec des toboggans et une piscine bien pensée avec plage
Pour le reste :
- horrifiée d'avoir trouvé un sachet de mort au rat par terre dans le bungalow sous le lit et mon bébé qui marche à 4 pattes noir de poussières ; tout juste des excuses des personnes à l'accueil qui m'ont dit que je m'étais trompée et que c était pour les fourmies ; aucun geste. Pas vraiment pris en considération ;
