Huttopia Millau

Excellent site with everythingy you need and more!

Millau is beautiful and the Huttopia site is sympathetically designed to blend in with nature.

We loved our daily visits from the Robins, Blue Tits and Sparrows 🐦

The pool is … lovely and offered a much needed refresh in the soaring heat of summer!

We recommend the Tout va Bien bar in the town for a real taste of France while watching the world go by and Au Bureau for great Happy Hour cocktails.

The campground has plenty of shaded spots, and some of the sites are located along the river.
Everything does look a bit dated.
If you’re washing your hands, you’ll need to be able to handle very hot water, because the faucets can no longer be set to cold or lukewarm.
When we arrived, we were allowed to choose our own spot. A few were … crossed out on the map, so those were off-limits. We could let them know later which one we’d chosen.
We chose a spot by the river and set up the RV. We ate our lunch and then went to the front desk to give them the spot number we’d chosen.
Unfortunately, the spot we’d chosen wasn’t available because, according to the front desk, someone else was already there. We had to choose something else. Phew.
We took everything down again and used the mover to move the trailer to another spot. That one was less desirable and tighter than the previous spot. Especially because we still had to fit the car in there, and if we did that, the RV next to us couldn’t really get out. On the other hand, it still seemed like there was room for the car because there was an empty space meant for a rental chalet, and we thought the car could fit there.
Unfortunately, just as we’d finished, a large caravan with a big car pulled up, and they’d been assigned that spot.
We were all just standing there, scratching our heads, wondering why that decision had been made. There were still quite a few spots available at the campground, but they’d been given this one of all places. The woman from the large RV did try to see if she could get something else at the front desk, but no one was there anymore. It was the long afternoon break.
Then everything was set up as best as they could.
We had just recovered from all that stress when the noise started. Right across from where we were, on the other side of the little river, was a canoe rental company that also throws a party whenever a group returns from a canoe trip. They do this with huge speakers, a DJ, and someone who regularly explains or tells the group something at a volume level of around 100 decibels. In between, there’s music—or what’s supposed to pass for it. Horrible. This nightmare lasted from 3:00 p.m. until a little after 8:00 p.m. We were lucky, because I’ve heard this can easily go on until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.
For people who don’t mind this kind of entertainment, it might be a good option, but we thought it was awful. Read more Show less

The chalet was just as described, the staff was lovely and professional, the location was nicely shaded, and the price was reasonable for this time of year... almost perfect—a very pleasant stay, in any case! Thank you all
