This holiday park is beautifully situated on an island in the Loire with views of Saumur's castle and within walking distance of the charming town centre. Guests particularly appreciate the friendly staff, spacious shaded pitches and pleasant swimming pool with castle views. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and the location provides an ideal base for cycling and walking tours along the Loire. Areas for improvement include the maintenance of some facilities, limited wifi connectivity and the absence of toilet seats in the sanitary blocks.

I rarely leave a review, but I have to this time. The service was terrible: I had to wait 45 minutes just to be shown the right spot (I ended up at two spots that were already taken). On the first night, I experienced a 15-minute power outage and couldn’t reach anyone at the emergency number.
The place is wonderful, but the management really needs to get its act together.

Nice campground, but the common areas are poorly maintained. Little details everywhere: crooked signs, flower pots scattered haphazardly with no flowers or dead flowers, sloppy solar-powered lighting (which will be broken by next year), potholes in the roads, litter just outside the campground, overgrown vegetation; so plenty of small details.

The pool is neat, but not very large.

The restrooms are clean and fine, though the layout is a bit odd (the sink is inside the shower, leaving only 5 sinks for brushing your teeth). Toilets without seats are outdated.

The staff is friendly. The location is beautiful; Saumur is beautiful.

Not unimportant these days, especially for the kids: Wi-Fi, which is very poor—almost no reception at the campground, only sufficient at the restaurant.

The café next to the campground can sometimes be very noisy. The karaoke night went on until 1:00 a.m.

The value for money is reasonable, though it’s annoying that the adjacent café is sometimes too loud.

We had an excellent spot with plenty of shade, though that’s something to keep in mind.

Mooie camping, openbare ruimte matig onderhouden.

Ligging is prachtig, Saumur is prachtig.

I spent the week of July 4–11 at this campground, located in a pleasant, shaded setting along the Loire River. Given the heat waves of the previous months, I was glad I’d changed my reservation 15 days in advance to book an air-conditioned mobile home. I was traveling by train with my 4-year-old daughter, and I probably wouldn’t have stayed if I hadn’t chosen that option. The brand-new mobile home was very well-equipped, and we were able to relax. Due to the heat wave, our outdoor activities were unfortunately limited to the mornings, and we stayed indoors with the AC on in the afternoons, heading to the pool in the late afternoon. The food was very mediocre, bland, and rather expensive given the quality. I was also disappointed by the kids’ club, which, as it turned out, wasn’t designed for 4-year-olds but rather for children aged 5–6 and up. I’m now waiting for the refund promised under the “heatwave guarantee” offered by Flower Camping, since we had at least two days with temperatures of 38–39° during our stay.

Unfortunately, after a few days and seeing no refund coming, I contacted Orakle Weather to find out what was going on. I was told that not a single day during my stay had exceeded 38°!!!?? In fact, the insurer relies on "ECMWF forecasts"... And not on actual temperatures! I think that under these conditions, if the coverage doesn’t apply during heat waves like the one we experienced this summer, it must not cost the insurer very much! This is false advertising!

We had a great week at this campground, which is in a great location with a direct view of the Saumur Castle.
A big shout-out from the guys from the 181 (he’ll recognize us) to Valentin, who kept us entertained all week. He’s got great energy and knows just how to put us at ease. Keep him around!
A few minor downsides: our unit was located right behind the restrooms, and it gets pretty noisy in the morning with doors slamming and some people talking quite loudly. There was a small hiccup with the bread delivery—one morning I ended up with only one baguette out of the two I’d ordered. Since they aren’t very big, that was just enough for four of us.
Other than that, there’s nothing to complain about—the campground is well-maintained. We’re thinking of coming back, and maybe staying for more than a week.
    Thanks for everything!
