Discover the Verdon from the water
Discover the beautiful Basses Gorges du Verdon by canoe from Quinson, one of the most beautiful and peaceful ways to experience this natural area. You set off on the Lac de Quinson, where the water is wide and calm and you are immediately surrounded by green banks and limestone rocks. As you paddle, you enter the narrow gorge, where high rock walls guide you and the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and tranquil. Every bend reveals new views and a sense of pure nature experience. Further on, the gorge opens up again towards Lac d’Esparron, where the water becomes wider and calmer and you can glide out at your leisure. A varied trip full of nature, tranquility, and water fun, close to the campsite in the heart of the Verdon.

Visit the idyllic village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
Discover the enchanting village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, located at the edge of the impressive Gorges du Verdon. This picturesque village is known for its characteristic setting against steep rock walls and the iconic star that hangs high above the valley. Stroll through narrow streets, admire the historic chapels, and enjoy the view over the surrounding nature. Additionally, the village is famous for its centuries-old tradition of faience pottery. Thanks to its location less than 30 kilometers from Camping Les Prés du Verdon, it is an ideal destination for an atmospheric day out full of culture, history, and natural experiences.
Vertical challenges near Moustiers and Castellane
About 20 to 30 kilometers from the campsite, towards Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Castellane, you will find one of the most famous climbing areas in France. The impressive limestone cliffs of the Verdon offer plenty of opportunities for sport climbing and via ferrata. As you ascend, you look out over deep gorges and clear water. It is an active and adventurous way to experience the rugged nature of the Verdon up close.
A journey back in time at the Prehistoric Museum
Just 1 to 2 kilometers from the campsite lies the Musée de Préhistoire des Gorges du Verdon in Quinson. In this modern museum, you will discover how people lived here thousands of years ago, right in the surroundings of the Verdon. The exhibition takes you through archaeological finds and daily life in prehistory, in an accessible and interactive way. A surprising and educational visit.

We had an old mobile home with a hole in the exterior wall and doors that didn't close properly... The microwave was a health hazard because the interior had chipped enamel. It was dirty (the floors were dirty, there were cobwebs in almost every room, and there was a shortage of cutlery and kitchen utensils). The campground’s restrooms need some work (too old). On the plus side, there was a large fridge.
Large, fairly shaded site.
Very kind and helpful staff—that’s the big plus—a pleasant pool, and great play areas.
It would be nice to have a security guard at night because, even though the area is very quiet, a fellow camper in a mobile home had his bikes stolen—and it would have saved me from having to get up at 2:30 a.m. to shut down the loud laughter and conversations from my neighborsacross from us, who spent the evening with a campground manager and his wife—whose entire conversation we could hear (and which didn’t reflect very well on the campground). Since they kept waking us up, I had to ask them to significantly lower the volume of their conversation...
The nearby lake is full of algae, and the water is cold—14 to 19° max—due to the dam release.
We still had a good week, though; the area is very beautiful, and the village of Quinson is very pleasant.
The campground could live up to its star rating, but it shouldn’t settle for just the bare minimum, and there should be a bit more oversight regarding safety and peace and quiet, especially in the evenings.this is a translation, click here for the original

The campground is in a good location, close to the village and hiking trails, but there’s a lot of traffic. The restrooms are in poor condition, and the facilities are outdated. It’s very noisy at night (music near the campground and people who aren’t considerate of others). The sites could be better separated by hedges; in short, I was a little disappointed!!
