Camping Lou Passavous

A week was actually too short in this idyllic spot. The owners, Ed and Astrid, are very attentive and hospitable. The restaurant has an authentic, living-room-like atmosphere. You can always turn to them for tips on activities like biking through the Barles Gorge, visiting the village of Seyne, the chairlift, Lake Serre-Ponçon, rafting, canyoning, … and more. They can also recommend both challenging and easy hikes, as well as waterfalls and panoramic views. We never spent more than 30–35 minutes in the car to get to any of the activities. There’s an inflatable pool at the campground, and next to it is a heated, supervised pool available for a small fee. In our case, it closed around the third week of August. The campsites are spacious, and there’s plenty of shade and natural vegetation, even between the sites on the large field. The trees and shrubs have grown since the photos on the website were taken and provide just the right amount of shade—not too much. From many spots, especially those on the large field, you also have a fantastic view. The kids get along great in the playground. The showers and restrooms are spotless, with no toilet paper lying around or clogged toilets. Freshly baked rolls are available to order. The weather in the region is usually sunny, and even though it’s nice and warm during the day, you can sleep under a comforter at night. We hardly had any mosquitoes or wasps.

A great campground in a beautiful part of the Alps. First of all, the climate here. Compared to the rest of France, it’s a lovely 30 degrees during the day in August, and at night it cools down to around 15 degrees. This is due to its location at an altitude of 1,200 meters—perfect!

There’s plenty to do for the kids in the area, and when it … comes to biking and hiking, you’ll never get bored here.

It's perfect—this is my second time at this campground. A perfect combination of sports activities and relaxation.

Quiet campground. Friendly welcome. Clean restrooms. It’s always a shame when toilet paper isn’t provided. Several hiking trails start at the campground. There’s a small restaurant on the campground.

A very nice campground. We received a super friendly welcome there and had four wonderful days. Everything is perfect. We’ll be back. Thank you so much for such a lovingly designed campground.

The operators are super nice, the site is small and very lovingly laid out, we were completely satisfied. The pitches are very large and nicely shaded. There is also a meadow for tents. More hikers come here anyway. Sometimes you can hear motorcycles from the main road. But there aren't that many passing by. The only drawback: there is only 3G (if at all) in some places and WiFi usage costs a fee. We were offline for 3 days. That was nice too.
