Guests particularly appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who are always ready to assist. The location in the heart of the Janas forest is praised for its tranquility and natural surroundings, with direct access to hiking and cycling trails. The swimming pool is popular with families, although some note it can get crowded during high season. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations.

As soon as we arrived, we noticed ants in the bathroom and in a kitchen drawer. Although someone had supposedly taken care of it, the ants were still there afterward. Overall, the bungalow is clearly showing its age. The leather on the sofa and the bathroom sink were heavily worn, and there were cobwebs in several places.

All day long, debris from the trees trickled through the roof over the porch, so I had to sweep every day. When it rained, the porch also offered hardly any shelter, so we had to move all our belongings into the bungalow, where we barely had any space left.

The campground advertises beautiful bungalows in the shade of pine trees. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for our bungalow: From about 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the porch was completely in the sun. Because of the direct sunlight on the windows, the interior also heated up to an unbearable level. We therefore had to buy a portable air conditioner for 150 euros to make the temperatures at least somewhat more bearable. On the veranda, we tried to create some shade ourselves using towels.

A major reason for our booking was the location in the beautiful Forêt de Janas with its hiking and biking trails. Unfortunately, these were closed due to the risk of forest fires. Of course, the campground isn’t to blame for the drought and the resulting closures. However, the website should make it clearer that access to the forest may be prohibited during the summer months due to the heat. This information is important for guests who specifically choose this campground for its nature and sports opportunities.

Fortunately, it only rained once during our stay. The rain was very refreshing, but the sports field wasn’t cleaned up afterward. Branches and other debris were scattered everywhere, which made playing soccer hardly any fun at all. Furthermore, the sports field is made of concrete, which isn’t ideal for athletic activities. Unfortunately, a large scrape covering my entire knee remains as a souvenir of this vacation.

The small store that was advertised was also disappointing. It’s so sparsely stocked that you couldn’t even buy water there.

The chairs in the restaurant and at the bungalow are very uncomfortable. Especially when wearing shorts, they start to hurt after just a short time. Luckily, I’d seen this in photos before leaving and brought seat cushions just in case.

We’d like to highlight the beautiful and clean pool as a positive. However, there are very few shaded areas there either, and the wooden deck gets so hot in the sun that you can only walk on it with water shoes or flip-flops.

Finally, I tried to return an unused laundry token. The token was accepted, but I did not receive a refund for the money I had paid for it.

Overall, the campground definitely has potential—especially given its location and the beautiful pool. However, the condition and amenities of our bungalow, the lack of shade, and various minor annoyances significantly detracted from our stay. For the price we paid, we would have expected better cleanliness, comfort, and maintenance.

A campground for people looking for peace and quiet—by 11 p.m., there’s no noise at all, and very few French people, if any.
    Friendly staff.
As for the food, I wouldn’t recommend the pizzas—they’re not great at all.
The platter, on the other hand, is a bit better, if you have to choose.

    The campground was very good.

Unfortunately, we weren't informed in advance that the forest surrounding the campground might be closed due to the risk of wildfires—and it was, in fact, completely closed off.

Since we had e-bikes with us, it wasn't a problem that the campground was located a bit outside of town and on higher ground.
