Summary created out of 238 reviews

The campsite enjoys a stunning location on the crystal-clear Lac de Serre-Ponçon with spectacular views of the lake and mountains. Guests appreciate the direct water access, spacious pitches, and friendly staff. The central plaza with bar and pizzeria creates a relaxed atmosphere. Areas for improvement include the sanitary facilities which are often too small and insufficiently clean, lack of hot water, poor road conditions with potholes, and sewage odors in certain locations. High prices, limited activities, and the absence of bins throughout the site are also frequently mentioned as drawbacks.

A nice campground right on the lake. I don’t know what it’s like during peak season, but the first few days of September were wonderfully quiet. The sites are fairly large, but not all of them have the same amount of shade. The campground is quite wide, with a restaurant and swimming pool in the middle. I was parked all the way at the beginning, on the side near the reception desk. The restroom building on that side is very small. The campground wasn’t crowded, but you still had to wait regularly in the morning. On the restaurant side, there are more and larger restrooms, but it’s a bit of a walk. The paths could be a little better lit at night. The restaurant is only open on weekends in September, but the little restaurant just outside the campground (Carlie’s) is open every day. It’s definitely worth a visit! The lake is wonderful; there’s a pebble beach, and the water doesn’t get deep very quickly.

Make sure you clearly understand which accommodation you’re choosing... the information provided over the phone is very vague...It’s best to write and ask for confirmation. Some accommodations (the “Teapeur” tent, for example) are very comfortable BUT cannot be reached by car and require a walk along a forest trail. Parking is available nearby. Most accommodations are not located on the lake or offer a lake view.
