Great great location, nice camping, we enjoyed a lot, many great hikes in the mountains, nice road bike trips, lovely heated swimming pool, stream of fresh water to cool down, nice atmosphere.
Cooling down in the evening for a good sleep, but bring your blankets (or ask at the reception) to keep warm early in the morning. -

Of all the Huttopia campgrounds we know, Vallouise is one of the most beautifully situated. However, several negative aspects disappointed us:
- The condition of the wooden flooring around the pool is appalling. Several planks came loose when walked on, and several protruding screws on the same plank posed a risk of injury to children, as did … the numerous splinters—my 7-year-old daughter was pricked by about ten of them at once under her foot.
- There is no restroom and shower area in the center of the campground, as there is at many other Huttopia locations. The showers, located at the far ends of the campground, were far away and often had lines.
- The showers were cold! Several faucets didn’t work properly; it was difficult to adjust the water temperature, and the water pressure wasn’t strong enough.
- The cleanliness of the showers left much to be desired… sometimes they weren’t cleaned for three consecutive days (the sign indicating the last person to clean them always showed the same name). There was a recurring shortage of toilet paper.
- It was impossible to identify the person in charge of the campground to whom we could ask specific questions. Moreover, the young seasonal workers there were unable to provide precise answers to questions about the surrounding area.
- Several activities were canceled; admittedly, some were due to bad weather, but others were canceled for no particular reason. The only remaining children’s activities were not well organized by the activity leaders, who were often overwhelmed (e.g., a wooden toy workshop made using pizza boxes...)
- The children’s playground was old, made of plastic, and not wood like at other Huttopia locations. The living area was small, uninviting, and always too cluttered with the activities taking place inside (sometimes two at the same time), due to the lack of another covered and suitable space in case of rain.
- Our campsite was in a flood-prone area, and we were lucky to leave the day before the major flooding of the Gyr and the Onde rivers. With a family tent, it would have been impossible to evacuate with all our belongings. These spots should be reserved primarily for RVs, with tents placed further inside the campground. This is a matter of logistics and careful consideration of the site’s unique geography.
Given the price we paid, next time we’ll stay at the nearby municipal campgrounds, which are beautiful, have few tourists, and are really inexpensive. The money we save that way could be spent on the many other activities the region has to offer.this is a translation, click here for the original

Great campground; the reception staff thoughtfully helped divide the campsites among the hikers.(This keeps the overnight stay affordable.)
The restrooms are a bit of a walk away, and the layout of the safari tents is a little messy.
The restrooms were clean and looked neat.this is a translation, click here for the original
