Day trip to Lüneburg

This historic city, a half-hour drive from the campground, is known for its beautiful half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets and charming squares. The cityscape is dominated by St. John's Church, which rises high above the city. It is also home to the Lüneburg Town Hall, a magnificent example of north German brick Renaissance architecture. Lüneburg is also a lively university town with a vibrant nightlife with numerous cafes and restaurants.


Castle of Bleckede

Bleckede Castle is a historic castle located in the town of Bleckede, just 3 kilometers from the glamping site. The castle was built in the 14th century and originally served as the residence of the Dukes of Saxony-Lauenburg. The castle has an imposing appearance and was built in the style of North German brick Gothic. In addition to its imposing towers and walls, the castle is also known for its beautiful courtyard and impressive gate. Today, it is possible to take a guided tour of the castle and the gardens of Bleckede, and events such as concerts and theater performances are organized regularly. A visit to Bleckede Castle is definitely worthwhile!

    We kamperen al bijna 25 jaar, maar nog nooit meegemaakt dat je geen grondzeil in je voortent mag leggen. We hebben een grondzeil met gaatjes, maar die moest ook weg. Alleen een matje bij je deur, verder niet. Belachelijk…je leeft thuis toch ook niet op een kale betonvloer… De eigenaren waren het niet met ons eens, dus hebben we na 1 nacht ons boeltje ingepakt en zijn we naar een “normale” camping verhuisd. Let op: ik bedoelde geen plastic grondzeil, maar een grondzeil met gaatjes, wat juist bedoelt is om het gras in leven te houden!

    Camping ligt in the middle of nowhere. Erg aardige Nederlandse eigenaren. Sanitair superschoon . Gaatjesdoek ed verboden wat vervelend is bij nat weer.

    Belachelijke recensie van Mathilde Bies! Thuis leg je ook geen plastic kleed op je gras onder je tuinset. We hebben in juli 2 weken gekampeerd op deze fantastische mooie groene camping aan de Elbe. We begrijpen heel goed dat de eigenaren niet zitten te wachten op grote verdroogde gele ‘postzegels’ op hun grasvelden die keurig onderhouden worden. Sanitair is superschoon, je kunt in het weekend heerlijk eten in het restaurant en er is een broodjesservice. Verder: rust, reinheid en regelmaat op deze camping en genieten van de natuur. Het is een goede uitvalsbasis om een trip te maken naar Lüneburg, Hamburg en Schwerin.
