Unfortunately we have to leave a negative review: We spent two nights in the ÖöD Suite in January. Price: just under €500. Expectation: a cozy winter break with a panoramic view. What we got was involuntary survival training at -10 °C. The first hint of what was in store for us on arrival: Call around 16:00 - the reception closes at 17:00. Our arrival was planned for shortly after 17:00. So self-check-in. No drama - in theory. In practice, this meant unlit, snow-covered, partly rearranged paths on the grounds. Including orientation in the dark. Other guests were allowed to park their cars somewhere in the snow because there was no way through, and continue their search on foot. The romance of adventure, but unfortunately without a campfire. The real highlight at the accommodation: the heating wasn't working properly. At -10 °C outside temperature. In "luxury accommodation". We set the air conditioning to maximum heating power - the result was rather symbolic. The room temperature was somewhere between "fresh" and "arctic". The emergency number was reachable - positive. However, the employee responsible was in Holland, 1.5 hours away. Nothing could be done before the next morning. Meaning: first night in bed in a winter jacket, hat and scarf. For €500, we had imagined things to be a little different. We could have had a camping experience for less. The next day, we at least got a radiant heater. Lo and behold - suddenly it was possible to heat a room. In addition, we had to be careful not to flood the bathroom when showering, as the water only ran down the drain to a limited extent. Multitasking on a wellness vacation. But what surprised us the most: There was no proactive apology or accommodation whatsoever. Only when we asked weeks later were we offered a voucher. A voucher for a place that we wouldn't want to return to after this experience - an interesting solution. A (pro-rata) refund for the first night? No answer to date. Mistakes can happen - especially in extreme weather conditions. But at this price, we expect functioning basic conditions and a service that takes problems seriously and is solution-oriented. The location has potential. The concept too. Unfortunately, the treatment of guests does not. We won't be back - and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone who understands "luxury" to mean anything other than lying in bed freezing.

Also Self-Check-in. Kein Drama – theoretisch.

The whole thing doesn't even deserve a star.

Errors on the part of the booking department and despite this you are accused of being to blame and everything is twisted.

    Customer friendliness is non-existent there

This was our first time in Wilsumer Berge Park outside the vacation season in Lower Saxony. We rented a Nature Lodge in "The Valley" and were very pleasantly surprised. The house is big enough for four people, very clean, modern and tastefully furnished. The location of the lodges is very close to the reception, mini market, restaurant, mini golf, alpacas, swimming lake etc. The swimming lake has two slides, which are not only fun for young guests. There is a snack bar at the bathing lake, but we would have liked more interaction and service. As with the burger chains, you have to order at a touchscreen terminal. I have rated the restaurant separately, just this much: the food was excellent every time. All in all, based on our experience, we can absolutely recommend the park.

Our overall impression is positive and we are satisfied with our stay, although there are some points that could be improved. The main reasons were the nature, the hot tub and the sauna, as well as the view from the house and the surroundings (forest). The accommodation was excellent: warm, cozy and equipped with everything you need to cook and relax. Just perfect.
The reception staff are polite and friendly, but unfortunately not very interested in helping guests arriving without a car. We told them on arrival that we were traveling without a car. The weather was bad and we had to walk about 15 minutes to our house with suitcases. We were not offered any help with transporting the suitcases.
I also asked via WhatsApp if it was possible to deliver firewood for the hot tub and that we would pay for this later at the reception or in cash. There was no answer to this and we had to buy the firewood ourselves in the market and carry it to the house, although you have small vehicles with which employees are on the road. It's amazing that this can't be solved for guests... Service?
The park and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Only downside: the path to reception was completely icy and nothing was gritted during our stay. It was very easy to slip and hurt your hand or leg. I would recommend Wilsumer Berge to my friends, but more to those who have a car. Without a car, it is difficult for guests - carrying firewood back and forth in bad weather is not a relaxing vacation.
I would also like to mention the water quality in the hot tub: unfortunately, it starts to smell unpleasant after the first night, and by the end of the second day after the second heating up, the water is no longer usable. We had to ask reception to change the water, which was done without any problems. I'm no expert but maybe it would be easier to use some sort of ecological tablet to prevent this? We were there for 5 days and every second time the water was already cloudy and smelly :(
