Summary created out of 1552 reviews

Wilsumer Berge is beautifully situated in nature and praised for its friendly, helpful staff and lovely forest setting. The large swimming lake with slides, children's entertainment, and dog area with its own pond are widely appreciated. The modern lodges and holiday homes receive many compliments, as do the hot tubs at various accommodations. Areas for improvement include the sanitary facilities on some fields (outdated, insufficient capacity, inconsistent cleaning), the varying condition of pitches (mud, sand), and occasionally long waiting times or limited opening hours at the restaurant.

    Review of Campground C8
Calling this spot a “luxurious, comfortable lakeside campsite” is totally off the mark. This spot is totally off the mark, too. We measured a 4.5 cm difference in height over 60 cm (using a level) = a 7.5% slope! Totally unsuitable for a campsite. Since we hadn’t been warned beforehand that wheel chocks would be helpful here, we had to put up with a tilted RV. Unfortunately, the access road is just as sloped, which is a real balancing act on wet grass. Three people, including me, fell on their hips during our stay. The size of this site is listed as 90–100 m², which—with a width of 10 m—would mean a length of at least 9 m. Our RV has a total length of 6.8 m and a width of about 5 m with the awning. We still had about 0.8–1 m of space on either side. In front of the awning, there would be about 8 m to the lake and the trees. However, the other campers who arrived after us still had to get through here, so our car ended up parked under the trees by the lake. The stated area is therefore not accurate. Furthermore, the site is advertised as having a lake view. If it weren’t for the trees and bushes, there would be a view of the small swimming lake for children.
There were two washrooms nearby, one old and one new.
Regarding the old one: no privacy, four toilets per gender, the door to the entryway is usually open and doesn’t close automatically. As a woman, you’re on full display in the washroom whenever someone opens the door. There’s only one lockable shower stall here, 3 sinks, and 3 showers.
As for the new one: 8 toilets per gender with 6 sinks—what’s the point? There are no hooks for toiletries in the toilets, and it’s quite cramped, but there’s plenty of privacy since it’s completely enclosed. In the showers (which have sinks—great!), you can’t adjust the water temperature, and it’s quite chilly on the floor.
The entire campground is very large, and the signage here could use some improvement. The signs for the individual sites are very small. It’s quite difficult to find your assigned spot, even with the app
. While taking a walk around the campground, we unfortunately found a dead hare or rabbit and reported it to the front desk. “We’ll pass this along,” was the response. A week later, the animal—which was already beginning to decompose—was still lying in the same spot!
We’d like to give the cleaning staff a good rating; they worked very hard to keep the washhouses clean. We’d also rate the restaurant as good.

    Bewertung Campingplatz C8
