Wake up on the water in this cosy floating home for up to 4 people, beautifully moored on the North Sea lake near Xanten. Your houseboat is part of a small, peaceful jetty with other floating houses, right by the charming village of Vynen. Here you stay in the middle of a lush green lake landscape, yet still close to culture, restaurants and days out along the Lower Rhine.

Step outside and you’re instantly in holiday mode. Around the interconnected North Sea and South Sea lakes you’ll find everything for an active or relaxed break on the water. Spend lazy days at the lido with its well-kept sandy beach, sun loungers and parasols, or jump straight into adventure with stand-up paddling, windsurfing or a trip to the sailing school. There’s a boat rental, a water ski and wakeboard cable of 960 metres, and even raft trips if you’d like to explore the lakes at a slower pace.

Fishing fans can get daily permits, while divers can discover a unique underwater world with a wreck and sculpture park hidden beneath the surface. Prefer to take it easy? Hop on a passenger boat cruise over the North and South Seas and enjoy the views from the deck.

The area is also perfect if you love cycling. The Lower Rhine offers a wide, well-developed network of bike paths, including the popular “RheinRadWeg”. Cycle along the river with views of the passing ships and use the traditional ferries to cross from one bank to the other – a fun little adventure in itself.
