A very nice campground

We thought it was a really nice campground—very well-maintained, with lots of beautiful flowers, olive trees, and plenty of string lights, etc., which create a cozy atmosphere in the evening. The restaurant offers plenty of choices, and the food is delicious. There’s always something for the kids to do in the evening. It’s geared toward younger … children, I’d say under 12.
We stayed in a classic country cottage, and I do have a few complaints about it: it was a pretty hot time of year, and the AC definitely couldn’t handle the heat—it also looked absolutely ancient. It was blowing in the wrong direction, and the bedrooms and bathroom weren’t getting cooled at all; We slept on the floor in the living room for two nights because it was simply unbearable otherwise, and to shower, we went to the bathroom building several times because there was at least a slight cool breeze there. For these prices, I would have expected something different. A good air conditioner should be able to cool things down much more!
It would also be nice if there were more umbrellas on the lawn by the pool; then you could bring chairs from the cottage and lie in the shade…
Other than that, there’s a nice little supermarket, friendly staff, and very clean restrooms by the pool that were always tidy.
There are several good supermarkets in Salò.
Cascina Belmonte is a nearby winery where you can pick up some delicious wine to take home.
Plus, there’s a ton to do within about an hour’s drive! Read more Show less
