Head into the mountains and discover the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, a vast nature reserve of about 70,000 hectares with hiking and cycling routes for every level. If you want to gain altitude, choose Monte Vettore as an impressive destination. Prefer a quieter route? Then go to the Piana di Castelluccio, a plateau between the mountain peaks where wildflowers bloom en masse in the warm season. For an adventurous walk, the Gola dell’Infernaccio is highly recommended, a gorge along the Tenna River, with high rock walls on both sides. Rafting and horse riding are also possible in the mountain landscape. End your day in one of the villages and sample local products such as the famous lenticchie di Castelluccio.

Explore the valley of the Tronto River by bike and follow quiet routes from the Apennines toward the Adriatic coast. Along the way, you will pass vineyards, olive groves and medieval hilltop villages. Start, for example, in Ascoli Piceno, stop at an agriturismo for local wine and combine your trip with Offida or a picnic with a view of the Sibillini. Discover the Marche at your own pace.

Discover the wine hills around Offida, where grape varieties such as Pecorino and Passerina are widely cultivated. Drive along small roads between vineyards and wine farms, and stop at a cantina for a tasting of local white wines. In Offida you will also find wine bars around Piazza del Popolo. Prefer red?
