Drive south? Then after 50 minutes, you will arrive in Montepulciano. A small town situated on a hill, where you can drink the tastiest wines and enjoy an impressive view of the hilly landscape.

Camping La Chiocciola is a glamping site with luxury safari tents set among rolling hills and vineyards. When staying in the Chianti region, it is, therefore, worth visiting a vineyard and doing a wine tasting. Head towards Enoteca Falorni, Marchesi Mazzei Cellar or Tenuta Casanova about an hour away. They are also happy to inform you at the reception about vineyards in the area.

A day trip to Lake Trasimeno

Take the car and take a trip to Lake Trasimeno, which is about a 45-minute drive from the glamping site. Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake in central and southern Italy and offers plenty of activities to fill a day. Find a spot on one of the beaches, visit the quaint waterfront towns, or take a boat trip to one of the islands in the lake.

Hiking through Pratomagno

About an hour's drive from the glamping is the mountain area of Pratomagno. This hilly area is the ideal place for peaceful walks through Italian nature. Enjoy the tranquility, great views, and fresh air. One, almost literal, the highlight is Croce del Pratomagno. This large metal cross stands on a mountain peak 1594 meters high. Walk across meadows, along streams, and spot cows in the summer. One of the trails toward this extraordinary cross starts from Monte Lori, a 45-minute drive from the glamping site. Follow the Cai 00 trail and, after a route of about 10 kilometers, reach this summit. Bring plenty of water, some snacks and enjoy an active day in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

    Mooie tent op een prima locatie om Toscane te ontdekken

    De camping lag erg strategisch om de gehele toscane streek te ontdekken. De tenten stonden mooi op een rij en dichtbij de bar/restaurant/winkel/speeltuin /zwembad. Het zwembad (zonder badmuts!) was een prachtige toevoeging bij de camping. Speeltuin bij het restaurant was erg leuk. Eten bij het restaurant op de camping was goed. Faciliteiten in de tent waren naar verwachting. In Bucine prachtige verbinding met de trein naar Florence. Grote inkopen prachtig te doen in Montevachi (20min rijden).

    De tenten van Villatent staan mooi ingepland op de camping, ruimte en privacy genoeg. Zeer rustige aangename camping met zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Zwembad is wat gedateerd maar ligzetels en plaats genoeg. Restaurant naast de camping is uitstekend.
