Snorkeling and swimming in hidden bays

The coast of Elba is known for its crystal-clear blue water and small bays. A short distance from the campsite, you’ll find beaches such as Spiaggia delle Ghiaie and Capo Bianco, where you can snorkel perfectly among the fish. The water here is crystal clear, and the white rocks create an almost tropical atmosphere. Bring a snorkel set, dive into the water, and discover the underwater life of the Tuscan archipelago. Also great to combine with a visit to the beach.

Hiking on the green island of Elba

Elba is a paradise for hikers. From the area surrounding the campsite, various trails run through Mediterranean forests, past viewpoints, and towards the island’s hills. For example, climb Monte Capanne or choose a route along the coast with sea views. Along the way, you’ll encounter ancient paths, fragrant herbs, and impressive panoramas. Ideal for an active morning in nature.

Visit the charming Italian villages

Elba is full of atmospheric villages that invite you to wander around at your leisure. Portoferraio, just a few kilometers from the campsite, is the historic capital of the island. Stroll through narrow streets, visit the old fortifications, and enjoy an espresso on a sunny square. Marciana Marina is also highly recommended, with colorful houses, a small harbor, and cozy restaurants along the water. For a typical Italian outing, drive to Capoliveri, a charming hilltop village with beautiful views over the sea. In the evening, the center comes alive here with terraces, boutiques, and local specialties. This way you can combine culture, gastronomy, and the relaxed island life.

Sailing, diving and water sports at sea

The sea surrounding Elba is one of the most beautiful places in Italy for water sports. From various harbors, you can rent a sailboat or join a boat excursion along the coast. Underwater, a colorful world awaits with rock formations, fish, and crystal-clear blue water. That’s why the island is also popular with divers. In the area, you can take diving courses or go on guided dives at remarkable locations. Prefer something a bit more relaxed? Hop onto a kayak or SUP board and paddle along cliffs and hidden beaches. From the water, you'll discover places that can only be reached by boat. This way, you experience Elba in a unique way.

Summary created out of 166 reviews

Rosselba Le Palme is a beautiful coastal campsite in Italy, nestled in lush Mediterranean vegetation with its own botanical park. Guests particularly appreciate the large pool area with slides, the professional and friendly animation team, and the welcoming staff at reception, bar, and market. The terraced hillside location offers scenic views but requires good fitness due to steep paths. The nearby spiaggia Ottone is small and less spectacular, but a shuttle service to other beaches is available. The renovated sanitary facilities are praised for cleanliness and child-friendliness, though older units need refurbishment. The restaurant serves good pizzas and fresh dishes, but organization and waiting times could be improved.

What a strange and awkward welcome—they made us pay right away without showing any interest in the guests who had traveled a long way. The way to the room was pointed out from a chair with a few hand gestures.

The room was clean, simply furnished, with decent beds. The bathroom was nice and clean. A nice touch was a sort of indoor balcony with lots of windows and a beautiful view of the mountains.

We had a campsite for a trailer. It was very nice. It was shaded, so it never got too hot.
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
There’s a restaurant and a grocery store on the grounds, all at affordable prices. There’s also a diving school on site and a car/moped rental service.
I can absolutely recommend Rosselba Le Palme.

A really beautiful and well-maintained campground just a 15-minute drive from the ferry! We were traveling in a RV, so the location wasn't ideal in terms of the surrounding villages. But everything at the campground itself was great!

Super mooie en nette camping op 15 minuten rijden vanaf de boot! Wij waren met een camper waardoor de ligging qua omliggende dorpjes iets minder was. Op de camping zelf was alles super!
