Discover the Magic of Greve in Chianti
The charming market town of Greve in Chianti welcomes visitors with its unique triangular Piazza Matteotti, lined with elegant stone arcades filled with wine shops, trattorias, and artisan boutiques. At the center of the square stands a statue of explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano. Nearby, the neoclassical Santa Croce church houses Renaissance artworks, while the Wine Museum offers a compact introduction to the rich Chianti Classico wine tradition.

Art in the Wild at Pievasciata Sculpture Park
Hidden in an oak forest near Pievasciata, the Chianti Sculpture Park transforms the Tuscan landscape into an open-air contemporary art gallery. Along gentle walking paths, you’ll encounter large-scale artworks by international artists, each created to interact with nature, light, and space. The result is a calm, inspiring visit that blends art and nature, making it an enjoyable outing for families and a refreshing alternative to traditional museums.
Siena: A Timeless Tuscan Gem
Medieval Siena enchants visitors with its UNESCO-listed historic center and the iconic, shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, famous for hosting the Palio horse race twice each summer. Climb the Torre del Mangia for sweeping views over terracotta rooftops and rolling Tuscan hills. The striking Gothic Duomo impresses with its black-and-white marble façade and extraordinary mosaic floor. Art lovers can explore the Pinacoteca Nazionale, home to masterpieces of Sienese painting. As you wander through Siena’s narrow streets, you’ll discover artisan workshops, lively cafés, and traditional pasticcerie serving local sweets like panforte and ricciarelli. Siena effortlessly combines history, culture, and everyday Italian life.
Castello di Brolio: A Legend in Every Glass
Castello di Brolio rises dramatically on a hilltop amid vineyards and cypress-lined roads, an iconic symbol of Chianti and the ancestral home of the Ricasoli family for nearly a thousand years. It was here in 1872 that Baron Bettino Ricasoli defined the original Chianti Classico formula, shaping the wine style of the region. Today, visitors can explore medieval towers, a baroque chapel, and romantic English-style gardens, all offering panoramic views of the countryside. The historic cellars are a highlight, where guided tastings introduce the estate’s renowned Chianti Classico wines—sampled in the very place where this legendary blend was born.

Wonderful campsite. Fully equipped. The route to it, more than 30min from the highway, is beautiful but also difficult for an errand. Staff is friendly, except for the lifeguard. He is, if you see him at all, hidden behind his phone all day. Ample swimming. Unfortunately the water was much too cold to swim. I think they forgot to heat it. This rather annoying inconvenience they have, as far as we are concerned, nicely made up for. Top. The restaurant was nicely decorated and you can eat delicious food. The animation also did a great job. For nice trips you have to drive a bit but that is not a punishment in this beautiful area. In short, we had a great week here.

Prachtige camping.
