Nice spot under the pine trees; the beach and dining options are okay. But €109 per night for two people in a camper isn’t justified. The campsite is right behind the theater stage, and there’s no water at the site. The restrooms and many other areas seem to be maintained only superficially. Overall, too much show and not enough quality for this price.

We returned to this campground for the seventh consecutive year.
The pine forest is always beautiful and well-maintained, and over the past year we’ve noticed an improvement in the services—especially in the children’s entertainment program, cleanliness, and general maintenance, which had been a bit lacking in previous years. The beach service, on the other hand, has always been impeccable. The only slightly disappointing thing is that this year, as we’ve always done, we requested a quiet spot in a slightly more remote area of the campground that we like, because the bungalows near the bar or pool area are, in our opinion, very noisy. They told us that to accommodate this type of request, we’d have to pay extra. Honestly, since we booked well in advance—and for the first week of July, no less—during which we later noticed that many accommodations were empty, and considering that this is the seventh year we’ve booked one or two weeks (with significant price increases year after year), I would have preferred not to mention this. The same goes for the significant surcharge for requesting a crib.

The last 13 years were great, but something has changed in 2026. The shine is gone.

We know Etruria is low-budget glamping and we don’t expect luxury. But glamping should still mean a certain level of comfort, functionality and care.

Our tent (1281) tells the story: calcified faucet spraying everywhere, dilapidated shower with unhygienic wooden floor repairs, leaking fridge gasket, barely usable bathroom light, poor kitchen equipment and a sink that can’t properly be used for washing dishes. Some things we fixed ourselves; others remained unresolved despite reporting them.

The frustrating part: these are small, easily fixable things. Someone simply needs to walk through the tents, notice them and take care of them. That alone would make a huge difference.

Meanwhile, we received a warning for parking in an apparently unloading-only area that wasn’t clearly marked and is regularly used by other cars. We moved ours. Simple. If only fixing the tents worked the same way.

This place could still be great with a little more attention and care.

Back from Camping Etruria in Marina di Castagneto Carducci (LI)
A perfect campground, with large or small sites, for tents or RVs, all under the trees of the vast pine forest. Between the beach (fully equipped) facing the islands of Capraia and Elba, the little square with a restaurant, pizzeria, butcher shop, produce stand, and bazaar, and the swimming pools—you get around by mini-train, and that’s when you realize just how huge the campground is! A special shout-out to the shallow pool with slides, inflatable islands, and water games—we had a blast there for five hours with adults and kids as young as a few months old!
The only tip: there are very few Italians, so brush up on your English.
Campground rating: 9.5—perfect for ages 0 to 80!

We stayed at a beautiful spot last year! Just a few meters from the gorgeous beach, complete with a beach bar. We booked again last fall for this coming summer—we can’t wait! 💛 Be sure to bring some ant spray!
