We stayed in a safari tent at the Monti del Sole campground during the first week of September as a couple. Angela Rosa, who runs the campground, gave us great recommendations for wonderful, off-the-beaten-path spots in the area, both for nature excursions and city tours. She also pointed out local restaurants and shops where we could find good food at great prices. The campground is very large, and its high-altitude location offers the peace and cool temperatures that people generally seek at this time of year. Highly recommended!

Assolutamente consigliato!

A great choice for a stay in a tent (or RV/van). We have two kids under 6, and we had a wonderful time. The pool is well-maintained, the bathrooms are clean, and there are sinks for kids. It’s a great base for exploring the area. The staff is friendly and helpful. We’ll be back! A tip: be sure to try a pizza at the restaurant ;)

Ottima scelta per soggiorno in tenda (o camper/van). Abbiamo 2 bimbi under 6 e siamo stati benissimo. Piscina curata, bagni puliti, lavandini per bimbi. Ottima base per girare. Gestione cordiale e disponibile. Torneremo! Un consiglio: mangiatevi una pizza al ristorante ;)

We stayed at this campground during the last week of August in one of the tents we booked through Tendi (a Dutch company), which manages the campground. We booked a 6-person tent with three bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen area, and a small living area. We received a very warm welcome from Ms. Angela Rosa, who explained everything about the campground to us and, in the days that followed, also recommended places to visit. It’s a campground where, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, you’ll find it. Plus, the Wi-Fi only works in the common areas, so it doesn’t work in the tent or elsewhere—making it a digital detox, though perhaps not ideal for kids. We spent a wonderful week visiting all the major sights in Umbria, but there are still some places we didn’t get to see, so we’ll probably be back. The only minor issue—though easily resolved—was finding animal droppings on the pillow twice. I moved the bed and found the rest of it on the floor—so more attention should be paid to cleaning the tents, especially when moving the beds, given the “surprises” you find besides cobwebs. One last negative point—though in my opinion it’s not the campground’s fault—is the €60 fee for tent cleaning. At other campgrounds I’ve stayed at, the fee is lower, since they specify that the guest is responsible for cleaning the cooking area. Here, there was no mention of cleaning responsibilities for the guest. Overall, the campground was nice, except for the Dutch company that manages the tents. I won’t book with Tendi again, but I’ll find another company I’ve used before.

A great campground for a relaxing stay just a few kilometers from Narni. We stayed at the campground on a large site surrounded by greenery, which provided some relief from the sweltering heat we’ve been experiencing lately.
