Lake Trasimeno, Italy.

The thermal baths of Bagni di San Filippo

Just over an hour in the car and you will arrive at the thermal baths of Bagni di San Filippo. The baths are located in a wooded area and some parts of the water are as high as 40 degrees. The smell takes some getting used to, but once you've rubbed yourself with the white sulfurous mud you'll enjoy a special day in and beside the water.

Enjoying music at Umbria Jazz

For decades, Umbria Jazz has been organized during the month of July. During this jazz festival in Perugia, several artists take the stage. From solo artists to groups, great shows await you for almost an entire week. Are you a music lover? Then it is definitely worth seeing if you can combine your vacation with a visit to the festival.

Water sports and adventure at Lake Trasimeno

Just a short walk from this glamping site with luxury safari tents is Lake Trasimeno, the largest lake in central and southern Italy. In addition to relaxing on the beach, building sandcastles, or taking a dip in the water, you are also in the right place for various water sports. Windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing, and sailing, it's all possible! From the glamping, they organize different activities like boat trips or even a boat race, but you can also go on your own adventure. Go by boat to Maggiore Island where a number of restaurants can be found, or spend a day sailing around the lake. It's hard to sit still when you're vacationing at this beautiful Italian lake!

Summary created out of 253 reviews

The campsite is run by three warm-hearted sisters who welcome guests with genuine hospitality and personal care. Its location directly on Lake Trasimeno is beautiful and peaceful, offering lovely views and serving as an ideal base for exploring cities like Perugia and Assisi. The pool and entertainment are appreciated, especially by families with children. However, many note maintenance issues: sanitary facilities and accommodations are dated, there are many insects (particularly mosquitoes), and parts of the campsite and lake itself appear neglected.

A very welcoming campground—I discovered it in 1993 and haven’t left it since. The staff is very kind and helpful; I felt like part of the family. The three sisters who run it are always available, and they solve any problem that comes up. I’ve always seen them ready to help all the guests, and I’ve never heard them say they want to give up. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great vacation.

LAKE TRASIMENO WON'T SEE US AGAIN
I had another memory of the area around the lake from when I was a teenager.
My family and I stayed there with friends from August 12 to August 15, and, alas, what we found upon our arrival was truly disheartening.
The services were subpar, the accommodations were neglected and dirty, the adventure course practically needed a complete overhaul, the common areas were dirty and run-down, and the mini-market (if you can even call it that) was practically empty—luckily, we’d stocked up by grocery shopping at home. The pool might have been nice, but here too, cleanliness was nonexistent.
The small lakeside beach and green area with lounge chairs and umbrellas—touted on the website—were nowhere to be found; the outdoor restaurant, which would actually be nice and new, is run in a way that’s hard to understand, and the staff is exceptionally rude. The bike rental might have been the only positive aspect of our three-day stay, but even there we had some issues with the bikes—since they were electric, they didn’t allow us to complete the tour around the lake that had been promised to us.
Furthermore—and this isn’t the campground’s fault—we were appalled by the condition of the lake and the trails running along its shore, which were also neglected, lacking shaded areas and charging stations for the bikes.
The potential is there, but the complete lack of maintenance on the now-dated facility is glaringly obvious.

A huge disappointment. The website shows a reality that no longer exists at all: glossy photos that have nothing to do with the current state of the facility.
The campground is in a state of total disrepair and neglect; it almost seems as if the management has thrown in the towel and let everything fall into ruin. Dirt, neglect, and a total lack of care for guests and the common areas.
I strongly urge the owners to at least have the intellectual honesty to update the website and show the actual conditions, instead of misleading and deceiving those who book. Terrible in every way—we’ll never set foot there again.

I stayed at this campground for one night with my family… I booked a site for our RV, but unfortunately there was absolutely no shade… The campground is nice, a bit dated, but it has great potential. The lake is practically unusable, likely due to the extreme heat and lack of rain. Nice pool. The staff at the front desk were very friendly.

Piscina carina. Personale alla reception molto gentile.
