This was our second time at the campground this year, and it was once again excellent. Our kids had a blast. We received a warm welcome. Unfortunately, the school holidays in the Netherlands had already ended by then, but that made us appreciate even more how welcoming and child-friendly the family that runs the campground is. They always thought … of things for the kids to do—there was dancing, singing, painting, and crafts. Our site was well-maintained and clean. And above all, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The restroom and shower facilities were clean and well-maintained. We highly recommend the campground’s own wine and sparkling wine—very tasty! We’re already looking forward to our next vacation with you.

Wir waren dieses Jahr das zweite Mal auf dem Campingplatz und es war wieder hervorragend. Unsere Kinder hatten mega Spaß. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Zu dem Zeitpunkt waren die Ferien in den Niederlanden leider vorbei, aber umso mehr ist uns aufgefallen, wie herzlich und kinderfreundlich die Betreiberfamilie ist. Es wurde immer überlegt, was man mit den Kindern machen kann – es wurde getanzt, gesungen, gemalt und gebastelt. Unser Platz war schön gepflegt und sauber. Und vor allem haben wir die Ruhe genossen. Die Toiletten- und Duschanlagen waren sauber und gepflegt. Was wir empfehlen können, ist der selbst angebaute Wein und Sekt – sehr schmackhaft! Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf den nächsten Urlaub bei euch.
We hebben de camping dit jaar voor de tweede keer bezocht en het was opnieuw geweldig. Onze kinderen hebben zich fantastisch vermaakt. We werden hartelijk ontvangen. Hoewel de Nederlandse schoolvakanties toen helaas al voorbij waren, zorgde dit er juist voor dat we de hartelijkheid en kindvriendelijkheid van de uitbatende familie nog meer waardeerden. Ze bedachten voortdurend activiteiten voor de kinderen: er werd gedanst, gezongen, geschilderd en geknutseld. Onze kampeerplek was goed onderhouden en schoon. We hebben vooral genoten van de rust. De sanitaire voorzieningen waren schoon en goed onderhouden. We kunnen de eigen wijn en mousserende wijn van harte aanbevelen; ze zijn heerlijk! We kijken nu al uit naar onze volgende vakantie bij jullie. -

A Weekend with a Major Setback August 14–16, 2026
We recently spent a camping weekend at De Toffe Peer with our caravan, along with our daughter, her partner, and our granddaughter. Thanks to the beautiful weather and the company, we had a wonderful time together. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the campground itself. The way … everything was organized left us with a particularly disappointing and unwelcoming impression.
Our other daughter and her partner rented a cottage for one night for €122. Upon arrival, the bedding was on the table, so they had to make the bed themselves. There were no towels, and the advertised welcome gift turned out to be nothing more than a small bottle of shampoo and a small bottle of soap. In addition, they had mentioned fresh eggs and a free tour of the vineyard. The eggs were nowhere to be found. After we inquired, they finally brought four eggs. The tour was canceled due to an event. No alternative or any form of compensation was offered.
The electricity bill also raised some questions. We stayed two nights with our camper and paid an extra €5 for electricity, just like our daughter, who was also there with her camper. Our other daughter and her partner rented a cottage for one night for €122 and were also charged an extra €5, even though they had barely used any electricity. There was no shower or toilet, so they had to use the restroom building next to the cottage. When we asked for a breakdown of the bill, including the starting and ending meter readings for the electricity, we were told that this would be a lot of work and therefore couldn’t be done. Subsequently, they did refund the money to us “as a gesture of goodwill.”
Although it’s a small amount, this says a lot to us about how guests are treated. Communication was unclear, the promised extras weren’t delivered, and we saw little sign of genuine hospitality. We had our enjoyable weekend entirely to thank each other for, not the campground.

Wij hebben onlangs een kampeer weekend bij De Toffe Peer doorgebracht met onze caravan, samen met onze dochter, haar partner en onze kleindochter. Dankzij het mooie weer en het gezelschap hebben we het onderling gezellig gehad. Helaas kunnen we dat niet zeggen over de camping zelf. De manier waarop alles geregeld was, heeft bij ons vooral een teleurstellende en weinig gastvrije indruk achtergelaten.
Onze andere dochter en haar partner huurden voor één nacht een huisje voor €122. Bij aankomst lag het beddengoed op tafel, zodat zij het bed zelf nog moesten opmaken. Er waren geen handdoeken en het aangekondigde welkomstcadeau bleek niet meer te zijn dan een klein flesje shampoo en een klein flesje zeep. Daarnaast werd er gesproken over verse eitjes en een gratis rondleiding door de wijngaard. De eitjes waren nergens te bekennen. Nadat we navraag hadden gedaan, kwamen ze uiteindelijk met vier eieren. De rondleiding ging vanwege een evenement niet door. Een alternatief of enige vorm van compensatie werd niet aangeboden.
Ook de afrekening van de elektriciteit riep de nodige vragen op. Wij verbleven twee nachten met onze caravan en betaalden €5 extra aan stroomkosten, net als onze dochter die ook met de caravan was. Onze andere dochter en haar partner huurden dus voor één nacht een huisje voor €122 en kregen eveneens €5 extra berekend, terwijl zij nauwelijks elektriciteit hadden gebruikt. Er was geen douche en toilet maar moesten hiervoor naar het toilet gebouw naast het huisje.Toen we om een specificatie vroegen, met de begin- en eindstand van de elektriciteitsrekening, werd gezegd dat dit heel veel werk was en daarom niet kon worden gedaan. Vervolgens hebben ze ons alsnog “uit coulance” het geld teruggegeven.
Hoewel het om een klein bedrag gaat, zegt dit voor ons veel over de manier waarop met gasten wordt omgegaan. De communicatie was niet duidelijk, de beloofde extra’s werden niet waargemaakt en van echte gastvrijheid hebben wij weinig gemerkt. Het gezellige weekend hadden we volledig aan elkaar te danken, niet aan de camping.
Voor ons was dit een teleurstellende ervaring. Eén keer geweest, maar nooit meer. -

We stayed (for too short a time) one night at site 9b with our family at site 9a next to us. We received a friendly and warm welcome. We took part in the guided tour, which was very informative for us. It’s also wonderful to see how this place got off the ground. Our compliments. It’s a great combination with camping. The tasting session … afterward, complete with a snack platter, was also really fun, cozy, and delicious. We had an absolutely wonderful time and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the owners and staff.

We hebben (te kort) 1 nacht op plek 9b gestaan met fam. op 9a ernaast. Ons welkom was vriendelijk en gastvrij. We hebben deelgenomen aan de rondleiding wat voor ons leerzaam was. Ook erg mooi hoe dit van de grond is gekomen. Onze complimenten. Leuk deze combinatie met kamperen. Ook erg leuk, gezellig en lekker was de proeverij daarna met borrelplank. Voor ons was het ontzettend leuk en willen eigenaren en personeel hartelijk danken.
