EuroParcs Zuiderzee boasts a beautiful location directly on the Veluwemeer, with convenient access to Elburg, Harderwijk and attractions like Walibi. The park offers spacious playgrounds, a large indoor play area and animation programmes that keep families with children entertained. However, the park faces significant challenges: the swimming pool is frequently described as ice-cold, dirty and outdated, cleaning of accommodations often falls short with dust, stains and mould, and there is considerable maintenance backlog affecting furniture, doors and technical installations. Staff reviews are mixed – some are friendly and helpful, others unfriendly or overwhelmed – and communication and customer service frequently disappoint, with guests being passed from pillar to post.

    Unfortunately, our vacation there was a disaster. In the morning, we were informed that the vacation home we had originally booked was in disrepair. However, we were immediately provided with a replacement in a higher category.
    Our vacation home hadn’t been cleaned. There was dirt and dust everywhere, the bathrooms weren’t cleaned, the beds were stained, the doorknobs were broken, and one door was broken. The garden was actually really nice, but everything else was terrible. We had to clean it ourselves first!
    Without air conditioning, it’s unfortunately impossible to stay in these houses—it was 35° inside. Because of the proximity to the water, there are a lot of mosquitoes around. Because of the lack of fly screens (only two windows still had them), our children were so badly bitten that they really suffered.
    The indoor playground was dirty and musty. We wanted to visit the swimming pool, but it was closed indefinitely at that very moment. Overall, everything is unfortunately very run-down and poorly maintained—something we’re not used to from other providers.
    We wanted to leave on the first day, but managed to stick it out until Thursday, which was very difficult. We tried to leave the park as often as possible.
    The swimming lake, however, was really beautiful and, thanks to the gently sloping water, great for small children.

    We visited the Hans & Gretel pancake house, which was absolutely fantastic. We also highly recommend the Belevenissenbos Lelystad adventure forest. That was the only positive thing about the vacation.

    We definitely won’t be coming back.

    Unser Urlaub dort war leider eine Katastrophe. Morgens wurden wie informiert, dass unser eigentlich gebuchtes Ferienhaus defekt ist. Wir haben aber sofort Ersatz bekommen in einer anderen Kategorie darüber.
    Unser Ferienhaus war nicht gereinigt. Überall Schmutz und Staub, die WCs nicht gereinigt, die Betten fleckig, Türklinken kaputt, eine Tür kaputt. Der Garten war tatsächlich wirklich schön, alles andere schlimm. Wir mussten selber erstmal putzen!
    Ohne Klimaanlage kann man es in diesen Häusern auch leider nicht aushalten, wir hatten 35° im Haus. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Wasser sind viele Mücken unterwegs. Wegen fehlender Fliegengitter (nur 2 Fenster hatten noch eins) waren unsere Kinder so zerstochen, dass sie wirklich gelitten haben.
    Der Indoorspielplatz war schmutzig und muffig. Das Schwimmbad wollten wir besuchen und genau dann war es für unbestimmte Zeit geschlossen. Insgesamt ist alles leider sehr runtergekommen und nichz gepflegt, dass sind wir von anderen Anbietern nicht gewohnt.
    Wir wollten am ersten Tag abreisen, haben es aber bis donnerstags noch ausgehalten, was sehr schwer war. Wir haben versucht den Park so oft es geht zu verlassen.
    Der Badesee war allerdings wirklich schön und aufgrund des leicht abfallenden Wasser super für kleine Kinder.

    Wir haben das Pfannenkuchenhaus Hans &Gretel besucht, was total super war. Außerdem sehr empfehlenswert ist der Erlebniswald Belevenissenbos Lelystad. Das einzige positive am Urlaub.

    Wir kommen definitiv nicht mehr wieder.

    In the photo, it looked like a really nice chalet.
    But when we arrived, it turned out to be a musty, old place—it was really dirty.
    The facilities—including the pool—weren’t clean either.
    We were really disappointed; we were supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after just 1 night.
