Summary created out of 302 reviews

EuroParcs Zuiderzee boasts a beautiful location directly on the Veluwemeer, with convenient access to Elburg, Harderwijk and attractions like Walibi. The park offers spacious playgrounds, a large indoor play area and animation programmes that keep families with children entertained. However, the park faces significant challenges: the swimming pool is frequently described as ice-cold, dirty and outdated, cleaning of accommodations often falls short with dust, stains and mould, and there is considerable maintenance backlog affecting furniture, doors and technical installations. Staff reviews are mixed – some are friendly and helpful, others unfriendly or overwhelmed – and communication and customer service frequently disappoint, with guests being passed from pillar to post.

We’d stayed at this campground before it was taken over by Europarcs. Back then, we thought it was a nice little campground. So, time for another beer. And the moment we arrived, the tone was set. It started with the receptionist, who was anything but friendly. The first thing we were told was that our site had been changed. When we asked why, we were simply told it was because we hadn’t specified any preferred sites. “No, we hadn’t because we had the last two sites, so I couldn’t even reserve them as preferred sites.” Anyway, we eventually agreed—you don’t drive all that way for nothing. We unpacked everything and then checked to see if anything was open for dinner. The snack bar was closed, the pizzeria was closed—in short, everything was closed.
And that on a normal changeover day—a bit strange. The Wi-Fi was completely out of range because we were literally in the very last spot. The restrooms were reasonably clean, but not well-maintained. Things were broken, both in the restrooms and on the campground. After a power outage, they fixed it with an extension cord. And all this while children were playing on the field.
Then there was trash scattered everywhere next to the trash bins. Probably because the recycling station was too far from the campsites. When we arrived at the recycling station, which was located lower down, the trash was piled up in a circle around the containers. Because they were already full. Which attracted pests. Very unhygienic, to say the least.
They probably won’t do anything with this information. I don’t care, because we’re never coming back here. But I hope they do something about it for the next campers.

People say this is one of the better Europarcs parks, but unfortunately I don’t agree. Our cottage had a ton of issues, and outside, the pool looked like it hadn’t been maintained in years. The kiddie pool was empty... the showers were freezing cold, and the roof leaked from every angle, so all your belongings got wet. It’s a real shame; fortunately, the restaurant was very good, and the cottages and layout of the park do look “luxurious.” The staff at the snack bar were also very helpful with gluten-free options.

Nice cottages, but don’t book #219—it has a sofa, a table, and four chairs that are worn out. It’s a really uninviting cottage. The swimming pool and toddler pool are closed—this isn’t mentioned anywhere. Two lanes on the mini-golf course are out of order. The indoor playground is dirty, with thick plumes of dust, and once again, four slides are out of order.
