Inside, everything is set up for relaxed holiday living. You’ll sleep on made-up box-spring beds, there’s a smart TV for a chill night in, and a fully equipped kitchen so you can easily cook your own meals. Fire up the BBQ outside on sunny days, or simply stretch out on your veranda and listen to the wind in the dunes. Some lodges are wheelchair-friendly and there are family-friendly layouts, making this a great choice whether you’re travelling as a couple, with kids or with friends.

The location is perfect if you love nature and the sea. From your lodge you can quickly reach the wide sandy beach, wander through the dunes or explore the island by bike on the many cycling paths. The surroundings are peaceful and green, yet you’re still close to Hollum with its cosy streets, lighthouse and small shops.

Dogs are very welcome here too. You can bring up to two pets, and nearby you’ll find leash-free beach zones and spots like Hollumer Forest where your four-legged friend can run and sniff to their heart’s content. Many cafés, such as Cantina Dolores, happily welcome dogs on the terrace, so you can enjoy a drink together after a long walk.

Feel like eating out? Try local favourite Nobel for seasonal dishes and its famous liqueur, or grab a relaxed meal at De Griffel with a sunny terrace. Prefer to stay in? With your own kitchen and outdoor BBQ, you can easily create your own cosy dinner at the lodge.

Sea Lodges Ameland 4 is part of a firework-free holiday park around New Year’s Eve, where fireworks are officially not allowed. However, the park does not actively check this, so there may still be some fireworks in the wider area. Still, it’s often a quieter option than many other destinations, especially if you’re travelling with kids or pets who prefer calm surroundings.
