Whether you want to learn about biodiversity or just see animals in a near-natural habitat, both parks offer a day of adventure and discovery.

Explore the ornate gardens and admire the historic interiors and art collections. With special children's tours, interactive exhibits and a playground, there is something for every age to discover. It's a perfect blend of history, culture and fun.

Sonsbeek Park is a green oasis, ideal for relaxation. Within 20 minutes you are in the city. Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands, exudes a student-like, lively atmosphere. The Valkhofpark, with ruins from Roman times, is a must-see. You drive here in about 35 minutes. Both cities are situated on the river Waal, which provides additional opportunities for recreation and water sports. From trendy cafes to historic monuments, and from green parks to cultural festivals, Arnhem and Nijmegen offer a diverse urban experience.
National Park the Hoge Veluwe
National Park De Hoge Veluwe is one of the most versatile nature reserves in the Netherlands, and is less than 5 kilometers from this glamping in Gelderland. The park covers 5,400 hectares of diverse landscapes, including heathlands, sand drifts and wooded areas. Here you can enjoy hiking and biking tours; the white bikes you can use for free make this extra accessible. For art lovers, the Kröller-Müller Museum is a must-see. We had a really great vacation at the campground itself. The kids had a blast at the indoor and outdoor playgrounds!! There was a mix of older guests and families with kids, which was really nice! Plenty of playgrounds and some activities you can join in on. There’s a small shop that sells some practical items, but we think it could be a bit bigger. We’d definitely come back to this campground—the kids are still talking about it. We miss the coffee with oat milk—it was delicious. They also have some gluten-free options in the restaurant, like gluten-free poffertjes, sandwiches, and pizza (if in stock). The only downsides are the cleanliness of the shower building. The tiles and grout are completely orange—a bit gross. There were regular campers who acted like they were in charge from their mobility scooters, yelling at kids (ages 4 and 7) walking through the bushes because they supposedly weren’t allowed to. If it were a serious violation, you could talk to the kids, but this kind of nonsense is really annoying. It’s a bit of a shame that this happens so often at campgrounds—that regular seasonal guests think they can meddle in everything, much to the annoyance of people who are just trying to enjoy their vacation without any hassle…

There’s only one working washing machine at this campground. That’s far too few for such a large campground. Not recommended for young families. Make sure you don’t have to do laundry.
