I spent a lot of time at Ackersate with my grandpa this vacation—the pool was fun, the park was fun, everything was great.

We stayed in the 12-person bungalow during peak season. The atmosphere at the park really feels like a campground—including the noise, which didn’t bother us. The kids took full advantage of the entertainment program. The pool was in great condition. When it was at its busiest, though, it was really much too small for the size of the park. Music bingo had over 80 people and only 3 prizes—that’s disappointing. The location is great—close to the village, and there’s plenty to do in the area.

Everything was great, and the park has plenty to offer for both children and adults.
They place a high priority on cleanliness, and everything is explained in multiple languages.
The only downside was that the water pressure in the showers in our mobile home was a bit low.
Otherwise, the mobile homes are very well equipped.

All in all, I would definitely recommend it.

2026 update—We rented a private chalet for two weeks from August 7–21.

Great resort, especially for kids up to age 12. It was quieter than last year (2025), though. The pool was packed on hot days, but that’s to be expected. Plenty of entertainment, though I can see how a 14-year-old might get bored. It was very quiet in the park by 11:00 PM, which was great for a good night’s sleep. Of course, there were (fun) events that went until 11:30 PM or midnight, but that wasn’t a problem.

It’s best to go swimming early in the morning or around dinnertime. I thought it was reasonably clean, though there were very few lockers available. The water slides (6 of them now) are fun. My 7-year-old son loved them.

The park is clean, green, and fairly spacious. Of course, the tents, chalets, and cottages are close together, but you know that going in.

The staff at the front desk, restaurants, and shops were friendly, engaging, and helpful. The chatbot on WhatsApp works pretty well for asking questions or reporting damage or malfunctions.

If you’re looking for a cottage, spot, or campground with entertainment and amenities, this is a good choice. It’s not cheap, but you get quite a few amenities in return. If you’re really looking for peace and quiet, you shouldn’t be staying at a place like this anyway.

So this was actually our second time here as guests!

Tips for management:
- more lockers at the pool
- a few more washing machines in the laundry room and an extra dryer
- pay your staff well; offer a little more than the competition, and you’ll naturally attract and retain more good people.

We had a wonderful camping vacation. The comfort camping spot was more than spacious enough for a large tent. It was nice to have shade from the trees.
Entertainment team, fun activities. It was especially nice that there were also family activities like “The Dream Flight” and music bingo. The entertainment team was well-organized, communication was clear, and the activity area looked very neat.
One minor downside: it would be nice to have more variety in terms of age groups for the activities throughout the day. Not just for ages 8 and up—I missed activities for ages 6 and up.
Swimming pool: a great pool for a campground. The splash park with slides was fun.
Downside: supervision by the pool staff—this needs attention.
Restroom building: clean; it was cleaned several times a day. Showers were very nice and clean. Good water pressure and a removable showerhead.
Dining options: Karrewiel—the food was very tasty; the cafeteria was also fast and tasty; Bijenkorf—the pizzas were okay. Definitely good food for a campground!
The park itself was very well-maintained—the playground, water play area, indoor play area, paths, and flower beds were all very neat. The staff in the restaurants, at the front desk, the entertainment team, and the store were friendly and helpful.
Definitely a nice campground to visit again. There’s also plenty to do in the area, such as visiting the village and Zeumeren.
