De Paalberg is beautifully situated in the forest with direct access to the Ermelosche Heide, perfect for hiking and cycling. Guests appreciate the spacious pitches and the car-free nature of the park, which provides peace and safety for children. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and most buildings have been renovated. The swimming pool with slide and rapids is a highlight, as is the enthusiastic animation team during holidays. However, there are points of attention: the wifi connection is weak, the shop has limited opening hours, and some guests experience the reception staff as not very hospitable. The cleanliness of accommodations and the restaurant also receive mixed reactions.

Weβve been coming to Camping De Paalberg for years, but unfortunately weβve noticed that the campground has been going downhill in recent years.
Weβre staying on the W field, and thereβs no restroom building nearby. During the day, itβs manageable, but at night you have to take a long walk along an unlit path. That doesnβt feel safe and, in our opinion, isnβt ideal.
In addition, according to the campground rules, it must be completely silent from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. We find that very excessive. People complain even if youβre just talking quietly with each other in the evening, while screaming children at 7:00 a.m. apparently arenβt a problem. That feels pretty unfair.
Furthermore, it seems like a problem is being made out of everything. We understand that the campground doesnβt want to be a campground specifically for young people, but the young people who are there are constantly being reprimanded. They arenβt allowed to sit anywhere or get together, and thereβs virtually nothing for them to do. Most regular guests with teenagers will keep coming anyway, so it would be better to come up with a solution where everyone feels welcome, rather than strictly enforcing rules everywhere.
I also had an unpleasant experience with a cleaner. I was walking to the restroom when I was suddenly grabbed roughly by the arm. Then, someone shouted something angrily at me in a language I didnβt understand. I found that very unprofessional and intimidating. You donβt expect to be treated that way when youβre simply trying to use the restroom.
All in all, weβre disappointed to see that Camping De Paalberg has become less and less pleasant over the years. We hope the campground addresses these issues, because as things stand, we wonβt be returning anytime soon.this is a translation, click here for the original

Stayed here for a week on a last-minute trip at the end of July. I didnβt have high or low expectations going in, butβ¦
A top-notch campground in every way! Clean and plenty of restroom facilities (recently renovated), with a friendly and well-behaved crowd that keeps things tidy and is quiet by 11 p.m.
Nice poolβboth indoor and outdoorβso you can always go for a swim.
Really fun entertainment during summer vacation. Both of our boys spent a lot of time with the entertainers.
If youβre looking for a beautiful, well-maintained campground in the Veluwe that doesnβt feel too big, youβve come to the right place.this is a translation, click here for the original
Last minute een weekje hier gestaan eind juli.

We enjoyed our stay (6 nights). Itβs a great campground for kids. The entertainment team organizes lots of activities. Itβs fun for kids up to about 12 years old, but I can imagine there isnβt much for teenagers to do at this campground. There is, however, a very nice and large pump track where helmets are required (theyβre not available at the campground, so be sure to bring your own!). The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
We had a comfort site with a car. These are very nice (quiet) spots at the back of the campground.
From here, you can also walk straight into the woods or out onto the heath. Thereβs a fun geocache on the heath nearby!
The park is well-maintained by the groundskeepers, and everything is beautifully landscaped.
Thereβs a somewhat smaller indoor pool (with a slide) and a larger outdoor pool. Outside, thereβs also a sunbathing area with a few lounge chairs. Itβs a shame that they allow day visitors on hot daysβthis made the pool area very crowded!
We have two suggestions for improvement.
1. Itβs stated that loud music isnβt allowed outside the vacation rentals and that neighbors shouldnβt be disturbed by it. However, youβll notice that several guests are still playing music at their campsites (which can still be heard several sites away). Guests also bring their own music and play it by the outdoor pool. Staff arenβt enforcing this rule.
2. The pool could be cleaner. You can see green algae in both pools. The floor could also use a cleaning during the day (indoors). Perhaps it would be a good idea to make the pool area (including the sun deck) smoke-free.
Despite these issues, weβll definitely be back.this is a translation, click here for the original

We had a great time camping at Camping De Paalberg. We rented a bike, but the tire was flat; the staff was very friendly and someone from the campground fixed it right away. One small thing: maintenance could be a little betterβlike the mini-golf course at the campground, where some screws are loose. Also, dogs are welcome, which I personally donβt so greatβyouβre relaxing nicely when suddenly a dog starts barking. But otherwise, if I had to give it a rating, Iβd give it an 8.
