It was our first time at Camping de Paalberg. We live nearby, so we went to check out which spot we wanted beforehand. The woman at the front desk was very businesslike and didn’t bother to greet me properly. She doesn’t realize that first impressions are important.
The campground is in a beautiful location; you can bike right out onto the heath.
The access road is in poor condition; some of the potholes could use filling.
The restrooms are great! A wonderful shower and nice facilities.
The drain behind our caravan was clogged. We reported it right away at the front desk, and they said they’d make a note of it. That was the end of it; in the end, we had to fix the problem ourselves.
The biggest downside of the campground is that you’re not allowed to park a car next to your caravan. The parking lot is quite far away for someone with mobility issues.
The restaurant was fine; we had a nice meal.

We had a wonderful time. The bungalow is clean and has everything we needed. However, air conditioning might be a good idea someday, given how hot summers are these days.
The campground itself is very clean and great for kids. Highly recommended!
