De Paalberg is beautifully situated in the forest with direct access to the Ermelosche Heide, perfect for hiking and cycling. Guests appreciate the spacious pitches and the car-free nature of the park, which provides peace and safety for children. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and most buildings have been renovated. The swimming pool with slide and rapids is a highlight, as is the enthusiastic animation team during holidays. However, there are points of attention: the wifi connection is weak, the shop has limited opening hours, and some guests experience the reception staff as not very hospitable. The cleanliness of accommodations and the restaurant also receive mixed reactions.

It was our first time at the Paalberg. The surroundings are beautiful—it’s a great place to go cycling.
We had a small spot; the location was good.
The restroom building’s awning was often subpar, and the cleaning staff didn’t really do much. They came for the first time in the morning between 9 and 10 a.m., which we found very late; in the afternoon, they were only there briefly, and then they came back around 7 p.m.Every time, they were using a leaf blower on the outside, which was completely pointless.
They were cleaning the entire restroom area with a single mop without rinsing it in a bucket, because her coworker had already emptied the bucket. Also, the building wasn’t locked so it could dry out, so within 10 minutes it was dirty again. The toilet paper wasn’t restocked properly.
There were also some young people who were wreaking havoc and thought it was fun to take all the toilet paper rolls from the men’s restroom and throw them into the bushes.
We were very disappointed that the snack bar closed as early as 8:30 p.m., even though the weather was beautiful.
The pool was very cold during the last week; the kids didn’t enjoy it.The outdoor wading pool for the very youngest kids was almost always empty because it was too cold.
I hope they’ll make a lot of improvements because I don’t think it’s a 5-star campground right now.this is a translation, click here for the original

A beautiful park with spacious campsites and plenty of recreational activities for all ages. Large outdoor pool and a decent-sized indoor pool with a slide. Mini-golf course and inflatable play area. Just outside the park is a tree-top adventure course where you can have a great time.
There are also many bike paths in the area, with various access points for hiking directly into the forest or across the heath.
The park is car-free, which benefits the campsites.
Upon arrival and departure, you may drive into the park to set up and pick up your camping gear; a maximum speed limit of 10 km/h applies to cars.
This speed limit does not apply to (electric) bicycles and fat bikes, which zoom around like crazy and pass you on both sides, creating dangerous situations for younger children who are also playing and walking along the paths. It seems to me that this needs to be looked into thoroughly
. What also bothers me is that you have to pay €4.35 per night for a dog. A dog that makes absolutely no use of any facilities is walked outside the park, and
De Paalberg doesn’t provide any amenities—such as poop bags or trash cans—in case of an “accident” in the park. This is unlike many other campgrounds.
I see this as a policy designed to discourage visitors or a profitable business model, because they know full well that a dog is part of the family and that you’ll bring it along—and they take full advantage of that.
As I said, it’s a beautiful recreation park, but at the moment, it’s not worth 5 stars in my opinion.this is a translation, click here for the original

A really great campground
Beautiful, spacious sites
Friendly staff
Lots to do for kids
Great area for hiking and biking
The campground is also well-maintained
They’re also helpful to people with disabilities 👍
Something for everyone—I say great, keep it up
One minor point: there aren’t enough parking spots for such a large campgroundthis is a translation, click here for the original
Super fijne camping
Mooie ruime plekken
Vriendelijk personeel

A beautiful location with good facilities. The main reason for the lower rating is that we often found it very noisy late into the evening and night. With small children, that’s a major drawback.
