Summary created out of 276 reviews

De Paalberg is beautifully situated in the forest with direct access to the Ermelosche Heide, perfect for hiking and cycling. Guests appreciate the spacious pitches and the car-free nature of the park, which provides peace and safety for children. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and most buildings have been renovated. The swimming pool with slide and rapids is a highlight, as is the enthusiastic animation team during holidays. However, there are points of attention: the wifi connection is weak, the shop has limited opening hours, and some guests experience the reception staff as not very hospitable. The cleanliness of accommodations and the restaurant also receive mixed reactions.

We’ve been coming to this resort for many years, and the living room in Cottage 5 has since been modernized. It’s spacious enough for 6 people. The resort is in a fantastic location, and there’s plenty for kids to do. The pool is nice and warm. One of the downsides—and the reason I’m giving it 3 stars—is the sewer smell coming from the toilet. We’ve reported this for several years now. But nothing has been done about it. Apparently, this is a groundwater issue, but if it can’t be fixed, at least hang something up to mask the smell, because it stinks terribly. I wouldn’t come back to this cottage again. Also, the mandatory sheet set is often moldy, or—as was the case this year—a pillowcase that’s torn to shreds and a duvet cover full of dog hair. If you’re going to charge for it and make it mandatory, then make sure it’s 100% in order!

Zwembad is lekker warm.

Stayed at a tourist campground. It was just fine—spacious sites, beautifully situated, and clean restrooms.
