My parents stayed/lived at the Paalberg in February and March, due to a remodeling project (Winter Living). Since I had motorcycle riding lessons in the area during the same period, we asked if I could stay with my parents for a few nights. To make the situation even more difficult, my dog then also had to stay with us because we could not leave him alone during these days. This was fully understood and both Cooper and I, were allowed to stay a few nights. The Forest Cottage, in which my parents stayed, was a pleasant place to stay. Everything you think you need is there. The setting is beautiful and the layout of the park is spacious and you have plenty of privacy. The shared washing machines are clean and wash very well. The presence of (loaner) carts is also a relief. We were in the low season, so I dare not comment on the availability of the carts in high season. We already noticed with spring break that people left the carts at their houses, so borrowing them was not really pleasant.

We are currently staying at Recreation Park De Paalberg and frankly, our experience is quite disappointing, especially for a campground that bills itself as a regal 5-star campground. Upon arrival, my sister and I wanted to check out the entertainment activities. It turned out that there was only something being organized starting on Friday, which was a silent disco for adults. It sounded fun at first, but the execution was very disappointing. It took place in the middle of the restaurant without any atmosphere: no space made for dancing, no lighting or decoration, really just nothing that made it cozy. We were barely given a welcome upon entering; it was more "here you have headphones" and that was it. There were several members of the recreation team walking around, but most of them were mostly passive and did little to make it a fun evening. This made us feel totally unwelcome and we ended up leaving. The restaurant itself was also disappointing. We ate there the night before and had to wait longer for the menu than for the food itself. The staff came across as very disorganized and insufficiently trained. In addition, we find the safety around the pool worrying. There is no visible lifeguard or supervisor present, only camera surveillance. For a recreational park where many families and children come, this frankly feels inadequate. Also, the so-called sauna room appeared to be simply locked. All in all, we expected from a 5-star campsite much more professionalism, atmosphere and hospitality.

Very beautiful and nice campground. Everything is clean and well cared for Only it is a pity that the sanitary building is much too far walk from certain fields they can better build a few sanitary buildings that are more central

Beautiful surroundings! If you want to be in a secure park with great green scenery this is the perfect place. Very quiet and large you feel the space and the fresh air. Enough amenities for young children to play and drive bikes safely. Maybe some lack of events (we went on a kids holiday period and not much was going on). The weather was a bit chill but the indoor swimming pool did its fun enough for kids with a nice slide and for grown ups to enjoy it comfortably. The outdoor swimming pool even bigger/better. Unfortunately the weather was not very inviting. The mini supermarket has what you need except fruit and vegetables and here is definitely a point for the park to review. Beautiful restaurant but the menu it’s a h by it to the short side (mainly pizzas/pastas). Maybe an option of a traditional meat plate and another of fish would help. Anyway great place to stay for a few days!
