Camping Valkenburg - Maastricht

Hello. We spent 8 days at the campground. The campground itself is very good, and its location near the city is great. Unfortunately, it’s always a shame that cleaning is only superficial. The drains aren’t cleaned—they just pour water on the ground. What a shame.

We had read up a lot on here before staying here with our campervan. We weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was good. The facilities were always clean and there were plenty of facilities, although we aren't sure how busy they may get when it moves into higher season. I have given the location a 4 from 5 only because its a 15 minute walk back up from town - all uphill, fine for us but maybe not for all. There was also some slight road noise on some pitches but not on the one we stayed on which was well located close to the facilities at the centre. Minor points on location which did not put us off, but more so for others to be aware. Also be careful how sat nav brings you in and know your route beforehand through town to avoid travelling through narrower residential streets if you have a larger MH.

Location Ideal for easy cycle access to Valkenburg although a steep hill to climb on the way back.
Would not hesitate to use the site again.

A surprising campground that we hadn’t expected—located along the highway, which you could barely hear. The campground is well-maintained with a park-like atmosphere, spacious sites, clean restrooms, friendly and helpful staff, a bread delivery service, a nice swimming pool, and you could hear lots of birds singing. Unfortunately, something we’d already noticed abroad happened here as well: many drivers drive quite fast through the campground (even in RVs). It’s a shame that those people don’t take into account the fact that they’re driving through a campground where people and children are staying.
