There were very few washing machines for the entire campground. The campground itself was okay—lots of black sand! The staff was very friendly, but the prices for food and drinks were definitely overpriced!

Feel like going for a swim? It’s 20 degrees outside—too cold for an outdoor pool.

I bought a day pass for Breebronne.
At the time of purchase, the following options were checked on the site:
V Beach
V 500 m² indoor playground
V Indoor pool
Apparently, in the summer, that only applies to the outdoor pool (in very small print).
To my surprise upon arrival, I had no access to the indoor pool. I asked for a solution—either a refund or access to the indoor pool after all. It wasn’t possible.
Tip: You should make this clearer on the website; this is a bummer.

Unfortunately, our experience at this campground was very disappointing. During our stay, construction work was carried out with an excavator right across from our campsite without any prior notice. This caused a massive amount of dust and sand, making it nearly impossible for us to sit outside and leaving our brand-new tent completely covered in dust.

What concerned us even more was safety. Several children were running around the construction site, while not a single staff member was present to supervise or keep visitors at a safe distance. The operator was clearly doing his best, but it’s impossible to keep an eye on everything from inside an excavator. We found that to be an irresponsible situation.

Afterward, we politely expressed our concerns. The campground acknowledged the inconvenience and apologized, but also stated that it did not intend to offer any form of compensation. Furthermore, they did not address the lack of prior communication. As a result, we did not feel that they were truly listening to us or working with us to find an appropriate solution.

We understand that construction work may be necessary. However, in our view, informing customers in advance, ensuring a safe work environment, and taking complaints seriously should be a given. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

For a 5-star campground, I’m a bit disappointed. The campground is confusing, a bit dated in places, and could use some maintenance. Also, the signage indicating where everything is is poor. It’s peak season, and several trash cans are locked. The facilities are fine—a nice little lake with a lovely beach and a beach bar, plenty of takeout spots for fries and pizza, and a nice restaurant. We booked a campsite for two weeks with private bathroom facilities, which weren’t very clean. The toilet was dirty, and the glass partition in the shower wasn’t clean. This was our first time at Breebronne, and I think it will also be our last.

A very nice park in terms of location… but not clean at all. Spaghetti sauce (?) from the previous tenants on the kitchen cabinets, breakfast crumbs still under the table. Sheets with bloodstains (?) were left out as “clean laundry,” there were fingerprints all over the windows, and food scraps from previous tenants were still on the plates. For the price you pay, I really expect a bit more than this.
