Klein Vink: glamping by the lake in Arcen with thermal bath

Klein Vink is located in the Limburg forests, right next to a recreational lake and De Maasduinen National Park. A notable feature is Thermaalbad Arcen, a wellness complex on the park grounds itself with indoor and outdoor pools filled with 35-degree spring water, six Finnish saunas, steam rooms and herbal baths. The park also has an indoor swimming pool with a toddler pool and slide. Children can enjoy the Indoor Fun & Café with playhouses, the Kids Club with activities and a Hang Out for teenagers. There is also mini golf, tennis, laser gaming and a Glowgolf course above restaurant De Kloosterhoeve, where lunch and dinner are served. The thermal bath also has a snack bar and two dining venues. Surroundings

Discover charming Arcen

Arcen is located right next to the park and can be reached by bike or on foot. The village centre has a small core with shops, cafés and a terrace along the Meuse. On the market square, you can enjoy a cup of coffee while the ferry pulls alongside. The Meuse riverbank is wide and peaceful here; you can walk along the water towards the castle gardens, which begin at the edge of the village. Anyone looking for a local atmosphere without traffic jams or crowds will find it here, just a short walk away.

Cycle along the Meuse towards Venlo

From Arcen, follow the Meuse dyke towards Venlo on a flat cycle path with views of the river. The route runs largely alongside the water and passes small villages where you can stop for a drink. Venlo itself has a compact city centre with a weekly market, an impressive town hall and several terraces along the Meuse. The distance from Arcen to Venlo is around fourteen kilometres, making for an excellent day trip by bike there and back without too much effort.

Action for the whole family at Toverland and Fun Forest

Those looking for adventure do not have to travel far. Toverland Amusement Park is about 18 kilometres from the park and offers spectacular roller coasters, water attractions and covered themed areas for all ages. Prefer to get active yourself? At Fun Forest Climbing Park, you can climb and scramble high among the trees over rope bridges, lianas and challenging zip lines. Little Switzerland Play Park is also in the same area and offers adventurous play forests, climbing equipment and fossil hunting in an old clay quarry. Together, these attractions make an ideal destination for an active day full of fun during your stay in North Limburg.

De Maasduinen National Park

Arcen Resort is located on the edge of De Maasduinen National Park, a beautiful natural area with forests, heathlands, shifting sand dunes and pools. Several walking and cycling routes start from the park and take you past the most beautiful spots in North Limburg. Along the way, you will pass charming villages, the Meuse and historical sights. Also visit the Limburg Museum in Venlo, where you can discover everything about the history and culture of the province. A stop at the Duke Jan Brewery or one of the many inviting terraces in Arcen is certainly worthwhile. A perfect combination of nature, culture and the Burgundian atmosphere for which Limburg is known.

Summary created out of 121 reviews

The park is beautifully located with a lovely lake and spacious green areas, ideal for peace and relaxation. Guests appreciate the swimming pool, wellness facilities, and children's playgrounds. Staff are regularly mentioned as friendly and helpful, and the on-site restaurant and supermarket offer convenience. However, there is a clear difference between park sections: newer accommodations and the residence area are modern and well-maintained, while older units are experienced as outdated and insufficiently clean. Sanitary facilities also receive mixed feedback, with complaints about maintenance and accessibility, especially for guests with disabilities.

This was our second time there. Once in a chalet and once camping. We really enjoyed both. The restrooms are cleaned several times a day, which was very nice. Soap and toilet paper are “always” available.
We never had to bring our own. The snacks at the snack bar were delicious, and the soft-serve ice cream was to die for—we’d even make a day trip there just for that. The little store really has almost everything you need.
The team at the service point was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, they were very hard—if not impossible—to reach by phone. We’d appreciate it if, starting at 10 p.m., security could check in on things at the lake and on the street there, because the teenagers are very loud and really bellow and scream.
Oh, and the pebbles on the paths at the campground are really annoying. They kick up dust when cars have to drive over them, get stuck under your shoes, and make it very unsafe to walk on them.
All in all, though, we’d be happy to come back.

We stayed for a week at the Landal/Roompot (?) Résidence Klein Vink. For 1,693 euros, I had expected better:

    - Making the reservation in advance was difficult. Landal’s system was migrated to Roompot, which resulted in me receiving a cancellation email but no further follow-up.... I needed the Roompot app to view my reservation, but the Landal app to see the entertainment schedule.
    - There’s trash and cigarette butts everywhere. Given the drought and fire hazard (a forest fire was raging just 20 minutes away), I really can’t understand why there are no signs or enforcement. There were even metal stakes on the lawn by the swimming pond—simply dangerous with all those bare children’s feet.
    - There were even cigarette butts in the garden and on the patio of our cottage.
    - As you can see in the photos, a number of things in the cottage are simply not up to par. We reported this halfway through our vacation, and we were promised that someone would come by. But that never happened.
    - The entertainment. We only participated in the mini-disco with Koos, which normally lasts 30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute meet-and-greet with Koos. On several days, the mini-disco lasted only 15 to 20 minutes: they sometimes started late and only played a few songs. Some entertainers didn’t even do their own little dances. The entertainment director said the duration depends on the number of children, but apparently even 15 minutes was enough for 20 kids. (I just don’t see how the length of a mini-disco should depend on the number of kids?)
Kudos to Ilona, though—she did a great job.

In short, a disappointing experience for us. We had expected better quality.
Good to know: we didn’t have air conditioning in cottage 337c, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work upstairs.

A very nice park for the summer. The lake is great for splashing around, swimming, and stand-up paddleboarding.
There are cottages right on the water—some with kayaks and others with their own dock.
Some of the cottages are quite old.
Since Landal merged with Roompot, prices have gone up significantly.
