Walking and cycling in National Park The Great Peel
From Roompot Park The Peel, you can step straight into the varied nature of the Peel region. In the area around National Park The Great Peel, you can walk through extensive peat and heathland landscapes with quiet paths and wide-ranging views. The Strabrecht Heath and the Deurne Peel are also nearby, where forests, heathland and marshes alternate. Along the way, you will mainly hear birds and experience how the landscape changes with the seasons. From the campsite, you can discover a unique natural area where you can enjoy walking and cycling and truly unwind in the nature of Brabant and Limburg.

A day out at Geldrop Castle
A short distance from the campsite is Geldrop Castle, a historic estate with roots dating back to around 1350. Once built by the lords of Geldrop, the castle was situated in a marshy area that offered protection through moats and water features. Today, the estate is freely accessible, and you can walk through the English landscape park with its ponds and old avenues. On the grounds, you will find a petting zoo with various farm animals and a sensory garden where you can experience nature through sight, smell, touch and hearing in a playful way. This makes the estate a varied visit for young and old alike in Geldrop.
Go on an adventure at Magicland and Zoo Park Overloon
From Roompot Park The Peel, you can drive to Magicland in no time, an amusement park where indoor and outdoor attractions provide a varied day full of adventure for young and old. Zoo Park Overloon is also nearby, a zoo where you can walk through green enclosures and see special animal species up close. Both outings offer a combination of experiences and variety, making your stay in the Peel region even more versatile and allowing you to easily put together a complete day programme.
Brabant hospitality in the Peel
Around Roompot Park The Peel are several picturesque villages in the Peel, such as Deurne, Asten, Someren, Griendtsveen and Helenaveen. During a visit, you will experience the typical Brabant hospitality in welcoming village centres with cafés, shops and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, where you can browse at your leisure and stop for a drink or a chat. Overall, our stay at Park de Peel was okay. The house was only moderately clean, so it could use a more thorough cleaning in some areas. On the other hand, the surroundings are really beautiful. Great hiking trails start right outside the door, which is especially nice when you have a dog.
There are three playgrounds in the park where kids … can really let off some steam. Other than that, though, we missed having more activities for children. We’re used to seeing significantly more offerings and activities for little ones at other Landal parks.
Unfortunately, our washing machine didn’t work at all during the entire week. Especially when traveling with a small child, this is naturally a bit inconvenient and made our stay a little more difficult.
Otherwise, though, everything was fine, and we felt right at home. We particularly liked the central location, as it allows for quick access to several beautiful cities.
We would definitely come back again and can recommend the park overall.this is a translation, click here for the original

A wonderfully peaceful stay during the last week of summer vacation. The kids are having a great time in the woods and at the playground. The kitchen is well-equipped, but it could use a good cleaning.

What a disappointment when we arrived with 3 adults, 3 boys aged 10, 10, and 12, and a young dog! The cottage wasn’t too bad, but the patio by our cottage was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! Just three meters from our patio was a road where cars, vans, scooters, motorcycles, and bicycles drove by every few minutes! That’s just crazy! We tried to block it … off with branches so the boys could still kick a ball around without it rolling onto the road. Super dangerous! So their “play area” was between the trees—who comes up with this for kids?! We only saw nice little play areas with grass in front of the cottages online, so why were we placed here with three kids? We went straight to the front desk, but they were very indifferent and said it was fully booked. They showed absolutely no willingness to help find a solution. As a result, we ended up driving a lot to areas where the kids could play ball. It wasn’t pleasant for the dog either, since people also had to walk past our patio to walk their dogs across the street from us. I took clear photos of the road, including the passing traffic; I hope I can attach them.
