Achtung – unserer Erfahrung nach eine absolute Urlaubsfalle

Wir hatten uns auf einen entspannten Urlaub in den Niederlanden gefreut und wollten gemeinsam mit Freunden einige schöne Fahrradtouren unternehmen. Stattdessen hatten wir von Anfang bis Ende nur Ärger.

Schon bei der Ankunft mussten wir feststellen, dass der Außenbereich verschmutzt war. Der Gartentisch war nicht einmal abgewischt worden, sodass der erste Eindruck alles andere als einladend war.

Am nächsten Morgen entdeckte ich im Badezimmer eine Kakerlake. Spätestens zu diesem Zeitpunkt war die Urlaubsstimmung endgültig vorbei.

Besonders ärgerlich war außerdem, dass wir vor Ort eine Kaution bezahlen mussten, über die wir im Vorfeld nicht informiert worden waren. Die Rückerstattung erfolgte erst 22 Tage später und erst nach einer entsprechenden Nachfrage.

Als wäre das nicht genug gewesen, wurden anschließend noch knapp 100 Euro für eine angeblich unzureichende Reinigung von der Kaution einbehalten. Bis heute haben wir dafür keine aussagekräftigen Nachweise erhalten. Hinzu kommt, dass in der Unterkunft praktisch keine Reinigungsutensilien vorhanden waren – lediglich ein Besen.

Unser Eindruck ist daher, dass Gäste im Nachhinein mit zusätzlichen Kosten rechnen müssen. Für uns war der Aufenthalt sowohl finanziell als auch persönlich eine große Enttäuschung.

Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen und können die Unterkunft aufgrund unserer Erfahrungen leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

The area around the park is fantastic; I enjoyed visiting Tilburg, 's-Hertogenbosch, Breda, and Eindhoven, as well as Kaatsheuvel, Heusden, and Waalwijk. And, of course, Efteling. But the cottage wasn’t very clean—there were a lot of ants running around. And the Wi-Fi connection is very poor. For 1.5 to 2 days, there was no Wi-Fi at all, and no TV either. It was nice to be able to sit outside, though. And it was nice that there was a parasol available—that’s not always the case. I’d definitely come back—purely for the beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful park, neat chalet—perfect if you want to visit Efteling!

We booked this vacation park because of its proximity to Efteling.

So I’d like to leave a little feedback here:

— Overall, the facility is quite old and could use some work everywhere. Unfortunately, the pictures online show something completely different. It feels like the photos were taken a long time ago.

— We visited the restaurant once... but not a second time. The prices are way too high! And the quality of the food just isn’t up to par. A frozen pizza for 14 euros (and yes, it tasted exactly like that). The restaurant was also pretty dirty. And no, I’m not criticizing the staff here—it’s not their fault.

- I found the following situation in the restaurant particularly interesting. I went to the men’s restroom and didn’t find any soap there, so I went to the bar and asked if I could get some soap for the men’s restroom, and the answer was great: “A customer broke the soap dispenser, and we have to buy a new one first”......Huh, seriously????? A total no-go for a restaurant, in my opinion. And it can’t be that there’s only one bar of soap here in the park :-).

So I called the hotline (since I also had some issues with the cabin), since the front desk closes at 6 p.m. (and I’m wondering why it closes so early). The hotline said, “We’ll look into it and call you back,” and—surprise—no one called back.

Long story short, we have to stay now because we wouldn’t get our money back.

BOTTOM LINE: We’re not coming back, and if asked, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We are very disappointed with our stay. In reality, the park looks nothing like it does in the photos. The photos paint a much more attractive picture than what you actually find there.

It’s 32.5 degrees in our cottage. There’s only a portable air conditioner with a hose leading outside, which means the door has to stay open. As a result, the hot air just flows back inside, and the air conditioner is barely effective. This makes it almost unbearable.

In addition, the refrigerator doesn’t cool properly, so food and drinks don’t stay cold.

Upon arrival, there was a dirty pan in the kitchen cabinet. Some plates and pieces of cutlery were also still dirty. That’s not what you expect from a clean vacation cottage.

The pool is much smaller than expected, and the outdoor pool doesn’t look anything like it does in the photos. This was a major disappointment.

All in all, the resort doesn’t live up to the expectations created by the photos. We therefore wouldn’t stay here again.
