Cycle along the North Holland coast
The cycling network around Callantsoog is a continuous chain of coastal paths, dyke routes and polder lanes. Head north towards Den Helder or south via Petten and Camperduin: in both directions, you have the sea on one side and farmland on the other. The junction network makes navigation easy. Rent a bike at the campsite and you can cycle straight into the Zijpe polder, where the horizon is wider than you might expect.
Taste Dutch wine at Koopman Vineyard
Koopman Vineyard is located in the North Holland polder and is one of the few vineyards in the region. Visit the vineyard during the growing season and see how the grapes ripen in a landscape you would not immediately associate with wine: flat, with a sea breeze that makes the leaves move.
