Beautiful campground. You’re truly right in the middle of the dunes. Very nice, new restroom facilities that were very clean. The sites vary in size and surface type. Our site was made of actual beach sand, so you got sandblasted when the wind was strong. Pheasants and rabbits happily scamper right past you. I found it wonderfully peaceful. I do … think the price is steep, though. But that’s because there are facilities for children—and of course, you’re paying for those as well.

Prachtige camping. Je staat echt midden in de duinen. Hele nette nieuwe sanitair die erg schoon was. De plaatsen zijn verschillend van grote en ondergrond. Onze plaats was echt strandzand waardoor je met harde wind gezandstraald werd. De fazanten en konijntjes lopen vrolijk langs je heen. Vond het er heerlijk rustig. Vind de prijs wel fors. Maar dat komt omdat er kinderfaciliteiten zijn. Daar betaal je natuurlijk aan mee.

A really nice place to camp. Close to the beach and downtown. We’ve been coming here for years. But last September, we had a huge problem with mice. We’d never experienced anything like this before. And I’m really talking about an infestation. In 9 days, we caught 21 of them. We used a mouse-friendly trap, so we released them back into the dunes … every time. That meant we were constantly catching mice, especially in the evenings and at night. It was awful, since I’m actually really afraid of mice. They just walked right through the awning—even in broad daylight—even when there was nothing to eat. Because it was getting annoying, we reported it to the front desk—also because it was really ruining our vacation fun. They chewed through our jackets. They completely chewed through the mesh on the cabinets at the back. There were droppings and urine on the table and the stove. Of course, we made sure nothing edible was left out and kept everything inside the trailer, but we also couldn’t leave any windows or doors open. The front desk said they’d report it and send someone over. After 5 days, we still hadn’t seen anyone, so we asked again. The response was: someone had been there, but no one was actually present, and they couldn’t possibly check all 900 sites. There had already been many more complaints. We noticed that many areas around the caravans were littered with straw or hay. We’d noticed this three years ago as well. This would, of course, be a paradise for pests. Look, you’re out in nature, and seeing a mouse or rat (which were also spotted) once in a while is understandable. But when it becomes an infestation that bothers a lot of people—especially those staying in tents or with awnings—we think a campground really needs to look into it seriously. And we shouldn’t be brushed off in a nearly rude manner by someone at the front desk who simply said, “And that closes the case,” when we asked if anyone else would come by to offer advice.

Hele fijne plek om te kamperen. Dicht bij het strand of het centrum. Komen er al jaren. Maar afgelopen September hadden we enorm last van muizen. Dit hadden wij nog nooit eerder meegemaakt. En dan heb ik het echt over een plaag. In 9 dagen hadden we er 21 gevangen. Wel met een muis vriendelijke val dus iedere keer over de duinen weer vrij laten. Dat betekende vooral in de avond en nachten continue bezig met muizen vangen. Vreselijk was het aangezien ik zelf echt bang ben voor muizen. Ze liepen gewoon door de voortent. Ook op klaar lichte dag. Zelfs als er niks te vreten viel. Omdat het vervelend werd hebben we daar bij de receptie melding van gemaakt. Ook omdat dit onze vakantie pret erg verstoorde. De jassen kapot gevreten. De kastjes aan de achterkant het gaas helemaal kapot gevreten. Keutels en urine op tafel en kook toestel. Natuurlijk zorgen we dat er niks eetbaars lag en alles in de caravan bewaarden maar ook konden we vd caravan niks open laten staan. De receptie zou er melding van maken en iemand langs sturen. Na 5 dagen hadden we nog niemand gezien dus nog maar ns gevraagd. Het antwoord was: er is wel iemand geweest maar er was niemand en eigenlijk konden ze niet alle 900 plekken langs gaan. Er waren al veel meer klachten geweest. Ons viel op dat veel plaatsen bij caravans vol lagen met stro of hooi. 3 jaar geleden viel ons dit ook al op. Dit zou natuurlijk een paradijs zijn voor ongedierte. Kijk dat je in de natuur staat en eens een keer een muis of rat( die werden ook gespot) ziet dat is begrijpelijk. Maar wanneer het een plaag wordt waar veel mensen last van hebben vooral die met een tent of voortent staan dan vinden wij dat een camping er toch serieus na moet kijken. En niet bijna onbeschoft afgewimpeld worden door iemand van de receptie die ook gewoon zei: en hierbij is het dossier gesloten toen we vroegen of er nog iemand tips kwam geven.
