Coastal Park Egmond by the Sea is within walking distance of the 24-kilometre-long sandy beach and the beautiful North Holland Dune Reserve. On warm days, the heated outdoor swimming pool with a separate toddler pool offers plenty of water fun for young and old. During the Dutch summer holidays, the Fun & Entertainment team organises fun activities for children, such as nature treasure hunts and cookie baking. There are also several playgrounds and a sports field where there is plenty of room to play. Egmond aan Zee Beach

From Coastal Park Egmond aan Zee, you can walk straight to the wide sandy beach. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing day by the sea, take a long beach walk or go for a refreshing swim. Less than a fifteen-minute drive away is Bergen, an atmospheric artists' village with galleries, boutiques and cosy outdoor cafés. Walking and cycling through the Schoorl Dunes

About a half-hour drive away are the Schoorl Dunes, the highest and widest dune area in the Netherlands. This varied natural area consists of high sand dunes, dense forests, heathlands and open drifting sands. Thanks to the extensive network of walking and cycling paths, you can easily explore the area at your own pace. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views, quiet forest paths and special plant and animal species. For families, the Fairy Door Route is a fun walk, while active visitors can climb the famous Climbing Dune in Schoorl. Take a break in the cosy village of Schoorl along the way, or combine your visit with a cycling trip towards Bergen or the North Sea coast. An ideal destination for nature lovers and active holidaymakers.

    We spent a week with our family at Küstpark Egmond aan Zee. We had heard noises in the chalet on several evenings, but at first couldn’t figure out what they were. On the last evening, we realized there was a mouse running around in the living room/kitchen area. I was able to capture the whole thing on video—the video is attached to this … review.

    First thing the next morning, I reported the mouse infestation via WhatsApp, including the video, and also reported it in person at the front desk.

    I find the subsequent handling of our complaint particularly disappointing. Roompot/Landal argues that we should have reported the infestation earlier so that they could have offered us alternative accommodations, for example. However, we had no idea beforehand that the noises were coming from mice. As soon as we identified the cause, we reported it.

    We paid €1,125.80 for our seven-night stay. After repeated requests, we were offered a maximum compensation of €69.95 (the cost of the final cleaning).

    I also asked specifically on multiple occasions whether the chalet was first inspected for or treated against a mouse infestation after our departure, or whether it was immediately rented out to the next guests. This question remained unanswered despite my repeated inquiries.

    I am fully aware that the park is located in the middle of a dune area and that mice occur naturally there. However, to me, a mouse outside in the park is something completely different from a mouse inside the accommodation—and especially in the kitchen area.

    The way the complaint was handled and the lack of willingness to find an appropriate solution unfortunately further worsened our impression.

    Wir waren eine Woche mit unserer Familie im Küstpark Egmond aan Zee. Bereits an mehreren Abenden hatten wir Geräusche im Chalet gehört, konnten diese aber zunächst nicht zuordnen. Am letzten Abend haben wir dann festgestellt, dass eine Maus im Wohn-/Küchenbereich herumläuft. Das Ganze konnte ich auf Video festhalten – das Video ist dieser Bewertung beigefügt.

    Direkt am nächsten Morgen habe ich den Mäusebefall per WhatsApp inklusive Video gemeldet und zusätzlich persönlich an der Rezeption angegeben.

    Besonders enttäuschend finde ich den anschließenden Umgang mit unserer Reklamation. Roompot/Landal argumentiert, wir hätten den Befall früher melden müssen, damit man uns beispielsweise eine andere Unterkunft hätte anbieten können. Wir wussten vorher allerdings überhaupt nicht, dass die Geräusche von Mäusen kamen. Sobald wir die Ursache festgestellt hatten, haben wir sie gemeldet.

    Für unseren Aufenthalt von sieben Nächten haben wir 1.125,80 € bezahlt. Als maximale Entschädigung wurden uns nach mehrmaliger Nachfrage 69,95 € (Kosten der Endreinigung) angeboten.

    Mehrfach habe ich außerdem konkret gefragt, ob das Chalet nach unserer Abreise zunächst auf Mäusebefall kontrolliert bzw. behandelt oder unmittelbar wieder an die nächsten Gäste vermietet wurde. Diese Frage wurde trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage nicht beantwortet.

    Mir ist vollkommen bewusst, dass der Park mitten in einem Dünengebiet liegt und dort Mäuse in der Natur vorkommen. Eine Maus draußen im Park ist für mich aber etwas völlig anderes als eine Maus innerhalb der Unterkunft und insbesondere im Küchenbereich.

    Der Umgang mit der Reklamation und die geringe Bereitschaft, eine angemessene Lösung zu finden, haben unseren Eindruck leider zusätzlich verschlechtert.
