Kustpark Texel

Discover National Park Dunes of Texel, which stretches along the island's west coast and begins almost directly behind the park. Walk along narrow dune paths past marram grass, heath, dune valleys and woodland, while hearing the sea in the background. In the park, you will find many signposted routes, marked with coloured posts, from short walks to longer tours through varied natural areas. Along the way, you may encounter rabbits and hares, and see breeding meadow birds or migratory birds in bird-rich areas. Bring binoculars, as Texel is an excellent place for bird migration, especially in spring and autumn. Put on your walking shoes, follow your own pace and discover how closely beach, dunes and nature come together here on Texel during your stay.

Visit Ecomare in De Koog and discover the nature of Texel and the Wadden Sea up close. In the seal rescue centre, you can see how young and sick seals are cared for, while the museum shows how the island, the dunes and the Wadden Sea came into being. Outside, you can watch feeding times for the seals. Allow two to three hours and make it an educational outing for all weather conditions.

Explore Texel by bike and choose your own route via the extensive cycling junction network. Cycle along the Wadden Sea dyke for wide-ranging views, take a break in Den Hoorn or discover the polders towards De Waal. From De Koog, you will find several options for arranging a bike and setting off straight away. Choose a short ride or plan a long island route and experience Texel at your own pace.
