The Hill Lodge is a new luxury 4-bed accommodation. In a world where enough is considered the ideal, we strive for a life with fewer distractions and more focus on what really matters. The Swedes call this "Lagom" - just enough. This has led to this beautiful accommodation, with no frills, pure forms and natural materials. The park is beautifully situated in the middle of the forest and offers an enormous amount of play facilities for children. Guests are particularly enthusiastic about the excellent animation team, the varied range of playgrounds spread across the park, and the friendliness of the staff. The swimming pool with slides and the indoor play area (Giga Konijnenhol) are absolute crowd favorites, as is the large water playground that is hugely popular with children up to around 10 years old. The sanitary facilities are consistently cleaned and appreciated for their cleanliness.

    We had a really great week at the campground. Beautiful park; we saw lots of squirrels. It had a really nice fall atmosphere with lots of pumpkins as decorations and string lights. There’s a swimming pool, the “Giga Rabbit Hole,” and an amazing playground by a small lake. It’s a paradise for kids.

    A few points of criticism as to why we … don’t rate it 5 stars.

    - The “Bibi” restroom building isn’t very comfortable. The lighting is motion-activated, but when you’re doing the dishes or even using the restroom, the light turns off pretty quickly. So you have to keep moving, otherwise the light goes out after a minute😆. In the restrooms, there are only 2 sinks with mirrors for brushing your teeth. That’s very few. Shower stalls with sinks but no electrical outlets. The family shower timer is set for 7 minutes. Sorry, but that’s really way too short to shower yourself and the kids!

    - The front desk is staffed by a young team. Maybe a little too young—they came across as unprofessional, and it felt like there were only interns working there. Check-in was a total letdown. “Hi, here’s your site number, parking pass, and token for the gate. Have a nice stay.” Okay, so is the park car-free? Can I get a map? Could you briefly explain the basics? What’s the best way to drive to my spot? Answer: “Have you downloaded the app?” Not very personal—a missed opportunity.

    - Small supermarket, open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Really terrible. In the morning, you can get fresh rolls, but you have to be quick because the baguettes are sold out by 8:30 a.m. If you’re cooking dinner in the evening and still need something, you’ll first have to walk to the parking lot and then drive toward Ommen. The park is a bit “out of the way,” so for a 5-star place, I’d expect the grocery store to stay open a little longer. The staff consists of young women who aren’t all equally motivated or friendly. Too bad.

    Hele fijne week gehad op de camping. Prachtig park, veel eekhoorntjes gezien, heel leuk in Herfst sfeer gebracht met veel pompoenen ter decoratie en lichtjes. Zwembad, Giga Konijnenhol, geweldige speeltuin in een meertje. Voor kinderen een paradijs.

    Een aantal kritische punten waarom wij het geen 5 sterren vinden.

    - Toiletgebouw “Bibi” is niet super comfortabel. De verlichting gaat op beweging, maar tijdens het doen van de afwas of zelfs op het toilet gaat het licht vrij snel uit. Je moet dus in beweging blijven anders gaat na een minuut het licht uit😆 bij de toiletten slechts 2 wastafels met spiegel om je tanden te poetsen. Erg weinig. Douchehokjes met wastafel zonder stopcontact. Familiedouche timer 7 minuten. Sorry dit is echt veel te kort om jezelf en kinderen te douchen!

    - Receptie wordt bemand door een jong team. Misschien iets te jong, kwam onprofessioneel over en gevoel dat er enkel stagiaires stonden. Inchecken was echt een flop. “Hoi, dit is je pleknummer, parkeerkaart en muntje voor de slagboom. Fijn verblijf.” Oké, is het park autovrij dus? Mag ik een plattegrond? Even kort wat hoofdzaken toelichten? Hoe rij ik het beste naar de plek? Antwoord: “Heb je de app gedownload?”. Niet heel persoonlijk, gemiste kans.

    - Supermarktje, open van 08:00 tot 13:00. Echt waardeloos. Sochtends haal je verse broodjes, maar je moet nog snel zijn want het stokbrood is op om 08:30. Als je savonds eten maakt en nog iets nodig hebt, zul je dus eerst moeten lopen naar de parkeerplaats, en dan richting Ommen rijden. Het park is dan wat “afgelegen” dus voor 5 sterren verwacht ik wel dat de supermarkt wat langer open is. In de winkel jonge meiden die niet allemaal even gemotiveerd en vriendelijk zijn. Jammer.
