Holiday Park Hölte

Very clean cabin. Well-organized and nicely done. The only downside is the mattresses. You'd sleep better in the bathtub.

Hölte is a real gem if you love peace and relaxation. “Slow living,” as they call it themselves. And that’s a fair statement. The cottages are spotless when you arrive, and everything you need is provided—including towels and bathrobes. The beds are comfortable, so you’ll sleep well.

We usually rent a Panorama Lodge there. They’re situated … so that from your jacuzzi, you look out over a field, which further enhances your sense of tranquility. The jacuzzi (or hot tub) and the sauna are for private use, so you won’t be bothered by others in your tub. There are also other types of cottages, but we haven’t stayed in those.

You check in on your own since there’s no (permanently) staffed front desk. But that’s no problem because check-in is very easy. The instructions you receive in advance are clearly laid out. Be sure to provide your license plate number so the gate will open for you when you arrive. Much of the communication takes place via the virtual assistant on WhatsApp, which works great; for more complex questions, your inquiry is forwarded to the team. If you’d still like to speak with someone from the front desk in person, you can quickly and easily visit the nearby Mölke park—which is part of Hölte—located just a short distance away. Friendly and understanding staff are there to assist you.

If something is wrong or not working, they’ll make sure it’s resolved quickly. We had one instance where the hot tub wasn’t working properly and were more than compensated for it.

One small thing: the hot tub doesn’t start heating up until you arrive. That makes sense, since the tub has been cleaned and refilled for the new guests. That way, you won’t be sitting in the water left by the previous guests. It does mean, however, that you can’t use it right after you arrive. It takes a couple of hours. But once it’s warm… then you’re all set!

If you want to rent bikes, you can do so at the park. The bike rental company they partner with will deliver and pick up your bikes right at your cottage.

Another plus: just a 5-minute drive away, you’ll find supermarkets and a few other shops, including a Kruidvat in the center of Holten

If you’re traveling with kids or looking for more activities at the park, you should head to Mölke instead. But if you’re looking for peace and relaxation? Then Hölte is 200% highly recommended. Read more Show less

A quiet, small-scale park. Warm and friendly customer service.

A quiet park; the photos look better than the actual place. The furniture could be better. The cabins are very sparsely furnished, with little privacy and no curtains.

Great location, clean, peaceful, beautiful nature—a fantastic base for our LAW adventures in the area. We booked it for the second time this year and really enjoyed it.

Once again, I had a wonderful time at Holten Country Estate. This time, I enjoyed a lovely, clean cottage equipped with a sauna, jacuzzi, and bathtub. I’m always amazed by the value for the money (in a good way). See you next time. I thoroughly enjoyed the slow living experience once again.
