Take beautiful walks on the Lemelerberg, where you will encounter beautiful heaths, deciduous forests, and sandy plains. And this is only a 12-minute drive away. Are you there in the fall? Then you might even come across a flock of sheep! Another special place to go is the Sahara of Ommen. Cycle here in 15 minutes and be amazed by the 20 acres of sand drifts. A fun place to wander or build sandcastles with the family. Follow one of the hiking trails and admire this unique piece of nature in the Netherlands!

Camping de Koeksebelt is located right in between two amusement parks, namely the fun Adventure Park Hellendoorn and Amusement Park Slagharen where you step into the world of cowboys and Indians. After about a 20-minute drive you are awaited by fast roller coasters, water rides and spectacular shows for the whole family. Either way, that will be an active day full of adrenaline! Once back at the glamping site in Overijssel, relax in your accommodation.

Shopping, walking and terrace

Sometimes it's nice to alternate nature for an afternoon in the city. Around Glamping de Koeksebelt are many nice cities for a day out. Drive 25 minutes to the cozy Zwolle. The center is full of outdoor cafes and fun stores. The pretty streets are perfect for strolling through. On the German border is another nice town, Coevorden. After a 30-minute drive you are in the fortified town with castle, green parks along the water and many stores and cafes. Do you drive another 10 minutes further north? Then you come to Emmen! Here too you will find streets full of stores, as well as WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo. A zoo with fun trails and playgrounds for children.

    Update 2026:
    Just like the past 3 years, we enjoyed this beautiful campground again. Everything is well taken care of. The campsites are spacious and neat. The food at the brasserie is delicious, and it’s run by two friendly people.

    To enjoy our RV one more time this summer, we decided to book a weekend at Camping de Koeksebelt. We … didn’t regret it at all. Everything was handled very well with regard to COVID-19. Furthermore, the campsites were neat and easy to access. The restrooms were clean and very well maintained. The center of Ommen is charming, and there were plenty of places to eat and/or have a drink. It’s easy to get around on foot.

    Net als de afgelopen 3 jaar hebben weer genoten van deze prachtige camping. Alles is goed verzorgd. De staanplaatsen zijn ruim en netjes. Het eten in de brasserie is heerlijk en wordt gerund door twee vriendelijke personen.

    Om nog een keer te genieten van onze caravan deze zomer hadden wij besloten om een weekend te boeken op camping de Koeksebelt. Daar hebben wij geen spijt van gehad. Alles was keurig geregeld met betrekking tot covid19. Verder waren de staanplaatsen netje en goed te bereiken. Het sanitair was keurig en zeer goed onderhouden. Het centrum van Ommen is leuk en er waren genoeg gelegenheden om wat te eten en/of te drinken. Het is goed te voet te doen.

    Een geweldige camping! Leuk om met jonge kinderen te verblijven. Leuk zwembad, leuke speeltuin en een kinderboerderij op loop afstand.

    We stayed at this campground in our RV and felt right at home from the very beginning. The campground is extremely well-maintained, and its location right on the water is simply fantastic. It was perfect for my husband in particular, since he could fish right from the water’s edge. The beautiful view of the water also made our stay … special.

    Unfortunately, the weather was a bit chilly; otherwise, we would have loved to rent a boat. The restrooms were clean, and overall, the entire campground made a very well-maintained impression.

    One minor downside, however, was the second night: a group partied very loudly until late into the night, so unfortunately we couldn’t sleep well.

    Otherwise, we were completely satisfied and would love to come back! We also really enjoyed the brass band concert and festival featuring various groups—it was a great highlight of our stay.

    All in all, a lovely campground in a great location—we highly recommend it!

    Wir waren mit unserem Wohnmobil auf diesem Campingplatz und haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Der Platz ist super gepflegt und die direkte Lage am Wasser ist einfach traumhaft. Besonders für meinen Mann war es perfekt, da er direkt am Wasser angeln konnte. Auch der schöne Blick aufs Wasser hat den Aufenthalt für uns besonders gemacht.

    Leider war das Wetter etwas frisch, sonst hätten wir uns gerne noch ein Boot gemietet. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sauber und insgesamt machte der gesamte Platz einen sehr gepflegten Eindruck.

    Ein kleiner Minuspunkt war allerdings die zweite Nacht: Eine Gruppe hat bis spät in die Nacht sehr laut gefeiert, sodass wir leider nicht gut schlafen konnten.

    Ansonsten waren wir rundum zufrieden und kommen sehr gerne wieder! Auch das Blaskonzert bzw. Festival mit den verschiedenen Gruppen hat uns richtig gut gefallen und war ein tolles Highlight unseres Aufenthalts.

    Insgesamt ein schöner Campingplatz mit toller Lage – von uns eine klare Empfehlung!
