What you should know about the park

Parc du Soleil in South Holland's Noordwijk, just a stone's throw from the coast, beach and dunes. In these beautiful surroundings you can enjoy hiking or take beautiful bike rides. Don't get bored for a moment thanks to the many facilities.     We stayed at this vacation rental complex as a family and found it very family-friendly. The playground at the entrance to the park was perfect for our kids, and the pool was a great option when the weather was bad. The kids also had fun at the indoor playground while we enjoyed drinks at the restaurant.

    When we arrived at our vacation home after 4:00 p.m., we were disappointed to find that the dishwasher hadn’t been cleaned and that there were leftovers from the previous guests in the refrigerator, including strawberry Müller milk and a McDonald’s bag. There were other food items in the pantry, such as marshmallows and candy. A pair of used children’s underwear was lying in the top bunk bed, and under the bed in the bedroom, we found a sock with holes in it. The Senseo coffee maker was also extremely dirty.

    We found the prices on the premises (vending machines) to be very high—for example, €1.60 per roll of toilet paper and about €10 for dishwasher tabs. It’s worth making a detour to Action, Vomar, Albert Heijn, Dirk, Lidl, etc. The washing machine and dryer can each be used for €6.

    The bike rental went smoothly both times, and we would use it again. Inside the house itself, perhaps a sign should be posted indicating that there is a sprinkler and that it sprays up to a certain point.

    Despite these shortcomings, we had a great time at the park and would love to come back. The location is really excellent.

    Wir waren als Familie in dieser Ferienwohnungsanlage und fanden sie sehr familienfreundlich. Der Spielplatz am Anfang des Parks war perfekt für unsere Kinder, und das Schwimmbad war eine tolle Option bei schlechtem Wetter. Die Kinder hatten auch im Indoorspielplatz ihren Spaß, während wir im Restaurant Getränke genießen konnten.

    Als wir nach 16 Uhr in unser Ferienhaus kamen, waren wir enttäuscht, die Geschirrspülmaschine nicht gereinigt und Reste vom Vorgänger im Kühlschrank vorzufinden, darunter Erdbeer-Müllermilch und eine McDonald’s-Tüte. Im Vorratsschrank standen noch weitere Lebensmittel wie Marshmallows und Bonbons. Im oberen Kinderbett lag eine gebrauchte Kinderunterhose, und unter dem Bett im Schlafzimmer fanden wir eine Socke mit Löchern. Die Senseo-Kaffeemaschine war ebenfalls extrem dreckig.

    Die Preise auf dem Gelände selbst (Automaten) fanden wir sehr hoch, zum Beispiel 1,60 € pro Rolle Klopapier und etwa 10 € für Spülmaschinen-Tabs. Da lohnt sich ein Abstecher zu Action, Vomar, Albert Heijn, Dirk, Lidl usw. Waschmaschine und Trockner können zu je 6 € genutzt werden.

    Der Fahrradverleih verlief zweimal problemlos, und wir würden ihn wieder nutzen. Im Haus selbst sollte vielleicht noch ein Hinweis ausgehängt werden, dass es einen Rasensprenger gibt und dieser bis zu einem bestimmten Punkt sprüht.

    Trotz dieser Mängel hatten wir eine tolle Zeit im Park und würden gerne wiederkommen. Die Lage ist wirklich sehr gut.

    Nice establishment overall, with a pleasant setting and good potential for a relaxing stay.

    However, the location is much further from the beach than you might expect from the Google Maps imagery. The map gives the impression that the beach is very close and easily accessible, but in reality you need to leave the campsite on the completely opposite side and walk around. This was somewhat misleading and is worth being aware of when booking.

    The reception team was also not the most efficient. The staff were friendly enough, but the overall process felt unnecessarily slow and could be much better organised.

    Overall, a nice place, but the communication about the actual walking route to the beach and the efficiency of the reception could definitely be improved.
