Glamping Schoneveld is located in sunny Breskens, where the smiling sun shines more hours per year than elsewhere. The most beloved spot here? The expansive 4-kilometer-long sandy beach! Stroll along the coast and admire the graceful octagonal lighthouse. Discover the wondrous woodcarvings of the emeritus pastor and sculptor Omer Gielliet in the Sint Barbarakerk. Or step inside the Fisheries Museum and unravel the fascinating stories of the sea. In August, Breskens becomes the bustling epicenter of the fishery festivals for three days, a celebration that draws thousands of visitors to this charming harbor town. And don't forget to enjoy the Zeeland delicacies such as fresh oysters, mussels, and the famous Westerschelde lobster. Breskens welcomes you with open arms and taste buds!
Across the water...
Stroll through vibrant Vlissingen and discover the longest boulevard in the Netherlands, where you can enjoy views of the sea. Wander along the Keizersbolwerk and immerse yourself in maritime history at the Zeeuws Maritime MusZEEum. Admire the sea hero Michiel de Ruyter, depicted as a statue along the boulevard. Vlissingen is, after all, the birthplace of this famous sailor. Want to reach the other side? No worries! The apartment was relatively modern, but be aware that the smallest ones have no cooking facilities apart from a kettle, not even a microwave. The air con unit isn't really powerful enough to cool a small space, so heat may be an issue during summer.
The most significant issue is cleanliness, which is very inconsistent. Some indoor and outdoor chairs need much better cleaning, as they can be encrusted with grime. Dust clings to some of the walls. The duvet has some suspicious marks and hairs.
As an aside, the camping shop closed early due to the heat. While understandable, this could leave you unprepared if you can't make it to the local supermarket. -

A very beautiful location, close to the beach and near numerous events in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Ideal for a peaceful vacation with your dog. You can easily explore Zeeland and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen by bike or on foot from here, since everything is close together. Within a half-hour walk, you’ll even find the ferry to Vlissingen.
The park itself is spacious and clean, though I especially miss clear communication. Upon arrival, it turned out the swimming pool wasn’t open. There was zero communication about this, which—given the heat wave—was anything but pleasant. Otherwise, there’s a ping-pong table, a small playground for the kids, and a central area with a park shop, snack bar, restaurant, and bowling alley.
In the central area, the level of friendliness depends on how busy it is. If it’s quiet, everything is handled with a smile. You’re attended to immediately, and nothing is too much trouble when it comes to customer service. If it’s busy, staff make comments to each other like, “Are they going to take this with them anyway, or are they eating it here?”—all while you, as a guest, can hear it. Sighs, grumbling, and complaining. Then you really feel left out and anything but welcome.
The cottages are very outdated. They’re equipped with all the amenities, but they’re definitely in need of renovation. Doors aren’t securely fastened; all the exterior doors leading to the patio have been locked shut, and the handles have been removed. So it’s impossible to let the heat out of the cottage. When showering, however, you might find yourself holding the showerhead in your hands. The smell of the water from the adjacent stream is anything but fresh. And let’s not even mention the half-eaten wooden structures (termites?) and the countless ants… renovation is definitely recommended… on the plus side, the cottages have a spacious interior and a large terrace surrounding them. The accessible garden shed was also definitely a plus.this is a translation, click here for the original
