The location right by the sea, with two very nice beach pavilions—all just a few minutes’ walk away—is simply priceless and the biggest selling point.

The quality of the accommodations varies (understandably) depending on the owner, since almost all of them are privately owned and merely managed by Europarcs. We’ve had good, average, and … bad experiences.
We strongly advise against booking through a voucher portal (e.g., ANIMOD), which we’ve done before.
For one thing, on top of the initially seemingly low prices, there are numerous previously unknown costs added by the park; for another, in one such case, we ended up with disastrous accommodations.

But what’s truly abysmal is the park operator’s service. Here are a few examples:

- The park’s own swimming pool has been out of service for almost two years. Supposedly, they can’t find a specialized company to repair it (as if anyone believes that!).
- For a while, guests were offered the option to use the neighboring swimming pool at Landal Park with reimbursement. However, reimbursement is no longer available, as the park no longer actively promotes the pool (everyone can draw their own conclusions about that).
- The front desk is staffed only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Sat. & Sun. only until 4 p.m.). So you just have to hope that nothing urgent happens in the meantime.
- For example, a complete heating failure, as was the case for us. We sat in the cold for two days—and, worst of all, without hot water. We were offered a room change, but it didn’t end up happening, which of course would have meant a lot of extra hassle.
- At the bowling alley, only 2 of the 4 lanes were open, which made it extremely difficult to book a time slot.
- A fee of just under 100 euros is charged for the final cleaning (after departure). So one should be able to expect that the chalets—which are fairly small—will be clean upon arrival.
Dog hair, dust in and on the cabinets, a greasy range hood, sand and dirt in the corners, dirty windows, and a somewhat run-down bathroom are just a few examples.

There are numerous other issues, both major and minor, that I don’t want to list in their entirety.

In general, it’s fair to say that the park shouldn’t rest on its perfect location. Especially since the prices (up to €1,500 for one week in the summer—a family with two children) are already steep.
The Landal park next door makes a much better, more well-maintained, and more organized impression on me (I’ve been to the pool there several times, where you have to sign in at the front desk, and everything seemed very neat and professional), and next time I’ll definitely book there.
