Can you swim?

We had a campsite with a lake view, and the view was absolutely stunning! The site had electricity, water, and a small refrigerator. We thought the price was totally reasonable, too! The campground has everything you need—the pool is great for cooling off, the small supermarket has everything you need, and the food at the restaurant is very tasty. The staff are all very friendly, too.
The only thing you could complain about is that the walk to the water isn’t exactly a breeze. If you have kids or aren’t very good at walking, you might want to plan on driving or biking out there.
But we still set out on foot every day—and there are worse things! Plus, the view from up there is just amazing.

Warm, spacious, and charming

What a little paradise! Highly recommended!
Hidden among the trees, you’ll find Camping Le Viaduc, a truly unique spot. The campsites are beautiful, and they offer a fantastic selection of unique rental accommodations (from teepees and yurts to log cabins and safari tents).

Since the campground is right on the river, you can walk straight from your shaded spot—which is a real blessing in the summer—into the wonderfully refreshing water.

We were there during the off-season, and it was blissfully quiet. With all the trees and the river, it’s an absolute paradise for birds; using our bird-watching app, we spotted no fewer than 17 different species!

Hikers will also find plenty to enjoy here: you can set off right from the campground for a few short trails, and the wider area is also perfect for longer hikes.

And then there’s the team: wow! The owners truly understand what hospitality means. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they’re always just as friendly. The support staff effortlessly follows their lead.

Don’t feel like cooking one evening? Then the cozy restaurant comes highly recommended. The menu is compact but offers plenty of choice, and everything is prepared with equal care by the chef.

That same chef is also the owner, handyman, gardener, and the go-to person for any little problems that might come up. A true jack-of-all-trades!

We stayed there for three nights. We chose this campground because of its location, which allowed us to bike to La Rochelle and explore the island.
The campground has a peaceful atmosphere. The restrooms were the best we encountered on our three-week trip. It’s less suitable for a beach vacation. A long swimming beach with a beach bar is just a short bike ride away.

Please don't book there!!
We were there until yesterday and cut our vacation short.
The pictures online look great, but they're definitely 10 years old.
The restroom facilities are totally run-down, and half the showers are broken.
The place is totally neglected.
The pool is dirty, and there's no staff in sight.
The restaurant and pool bar are only open on weekends.
And the much-hyped beach is a disaster. No one is there because the entire beach is littered with duck droppings. There’s trash everywhere, and you can even find barbed wire in the sand.
Absolutely terrible place. We let the pictures blind us.

It was incredible. The cleanliness, the staff, and the food at the restaurant—all top-notch. The place is beautiful and cozy. The fact that it’s pet-friendly is a huge plus. I’d definitely go back.
