We had a decent spot, though perhaps not shaded enough given the heat wave!
The restrooms were clean but nothing special; toilet paper wasn’t always available, the lighting in the showers was a bit dim, and there was no cold water in the women’s restroom.
The pool was a very pleasant temperature; the lounge chairs were spotless; the synthetic grass flooring was non-slip but scorching hot.
A very beautiful beach with a gentle slope for swimming, accessible on foot via a car-free path just 10 minutes away—very convenient.
A food truck was there on some evenings, serving delicious food.

Nice, but there’s plenty of room for improvement.
The reviews contain a lot of negative criticism about the condition of the bungalows. Apparently, this criticism is justified. There are some bungalows that can be booked directly. The condition of these bungalows seems to be better.
The interior of our bungalow was spotless. It could have been a little cleaner. Outside, however, the condition was not up to par. The lounge furniture was covered in bird droppings. The terrace by the house and down by the lounge was littered with brown leaves, as if it were fall, and the terrace area was very untidy.
At least in June, facilities like the restaurant, kiosk, mini-market, and surf school… had very limited hours. The water and the beaches were a disaster! The beaches were unkempt and filthy. Swimming was impossible due to extremely dense and widespread seaweed!!! It’s a shame—you have the water right on your doorstep and can’t even use it. Aside from a few SUP paddlers, there was no one in the water. The day before we left, they finally tried to clear the seaweed from the beaches. Too late for us. I definitely wouldn’t want to spend a vacation here during peak season.

We stayed at a lodge... that was really nice, neat, and clean. The AC and the fridge with bottles of water were already on... it was 30 gr outside... friendly staff. So I highly recommend it.

During our bike trip along the Vélodyssée, this campground was a very pleasant surprise!
The staff was very welcoming, the place was clean and quiet, and the icing on the cake was a dedicated bike welcome area!
There’s a bungalow available for bike tourists with everything they need to cook and rest!
What a great initiative!

The location was superb, easy walk into Ypres. The site pitches were good, the facilities were clean but a little restricted due to improvements being made on new facilities by the new owners.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay

This is a large campground outside Saumur in “the middle of nowhere,” surrounded by trees in a forest. It’s about 9 kilometers from Saumur. The campground offers a stunning view of the Loire River from behind the bar. People with an ACSI card can’t camp just anywhere, but have a choice of a limited number of sites. If you want other sites, you’ll have to pay extra. There’s a small bar where you can generally only order simple items, such as pizzas. However, the dining area was closed. As a side note: a glass of wine costs €6 at the bar. When I told the receptionist that I know from personal experience that this is very expensive for a campground bar, he thought that €6 for a glass of wine was cheap. If you continue to insist this to customers despite that, then you don’t quite get it. The staff are otherwise very friendly and consist mainly of young students. Free Wi-Fi is only available around the reception area. There’s a bread service.
There are two swimming pools: an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. The restroom facility is located next to the reception desk and is luxurious.
Bread can be ordered at the reception desk, where there’s also a Wi-Fi zone.
There are no water hookups at the campsites; only behind our spot is there a push-button faucet with a very weak stream. This is really inconvenient. It therefore takes quite a bit of effort to fill a caravan’s fresh water tank.
For those seeking peace and quiet, this is a great campground for one or more days.

Excellent campground. We had a wonderful stay at Huttopia Royat. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool was a real treat after a hike, and with the heat wave, we were lucky to be able to enjoy it. Thank you for welcoming our pets, too. Our cocker spaniel was like a little mascot! Good luck with the rest of the season!
