Beautiful park also very neat and quiet.

The sauna, the peace and quiet and the technical service. The staff are competent, friendly and courteous. The furnishings in the house are very well arranged. Very good layout, very good combi-microwave.

Quiet campsite, away from the road but close to the town and shops. Very friendly welcome and ideal location for our motorhome. There's plenty of space between residents, which promotes peace and quiet. Thank you, we'll be back this winter to sample the restaurant's cuisine and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

A beautiful campsite top

Very nice rustic campsite in the middle of nature.

les + : Impeccable sanitary facilities, hot water, pleasant riverside location, note that not all premium pitches have a clear view of the river, some are hidden by trees. The minuses : Expensive for the services offered and in comparison with other campsites in the area. Don't forget to bring a large extension lead, as there are few electricity points. I really didn't appreciate finding myself in a Flemish environment for a vacation in France: signs, game broadcasts, staff who don't speak French or don't speak it very well. Although it's not indicated on the website, the restaurant wasn't open during our stay. We had to take the car to get to the restaurant in the village. If we'd known the opening hours, we wouldn't have come! The wifi speed is completely insufficient and is only available at reception. The sanitary facilities are a long way from the camping pitches.

This was my second experience of a Huttopia campsite during my visit to France, and unfortunately this site was a significantly worse experience. Firstly a positive was the size of the pitch. We opted for a comfort pitch which was huge in size and the picnic table especially useful for eating and sitting at during the day. For the negatives.. As a British customer, I felt isolated and victimised in that the Euro 2024 England match at 6pm could not be shown. We asked in the communal area and were told only the 9pm game could be shown, as their policy. I asked again as there was no one else in the communal area but again was told no. I was therefore disappointed that the following day at the same time the French game was being shown despite being at 6pm not 9pm, and the same the following day with The Netherlands game. At our previous site the euros had been on with no issue, and provided a friendly social environment amongst the campers. At Huttopia Saumur however I felt disadvantaged at being British and this appeared to be targeted towards UK personnel only, a huge shame considering there were a number of British customers on site. The staff were not friendly or welcoming, so as a Brit I would urge to consider staying at alternative campsites within The Loire Valley where hopefully you are treated with a bit more respect and equality. We arrived on a Sunday night and were disappointed to find that the pizza oven and bar were closed until 5 July, only open Fridays/Saturdays. This seemed to be a disappointment for other customers who had just arrived too and whilst I understand that it may not yet be ‘high season’ by French holiday standards, they would have done very well by offering this considering how full the campsite was. Unfortunately the sanitary and toilet blocks also left a lot to be desired and although I saw these being cleaned on a daily basis, several showers and toilets had been locked so there were only a few available. As a result this means that people were queuing for showers and teenage daughters/sons sharing with their respective mothers/fathers which I do not think is acceptable. Huttopia also pride themselves on their environmental impact and having recycling options throughout their sites. At this site, the recycling bins need some clear attention as many were overflowing and on some there were two signs to the same bin (plastic bottles and metal) and so I fear these will not be recycled properly. Would I recommend Huttopia and stay at another site? Yes, but I cannot recommend staying at Huttopia Saumur, especially if you are British. If returning to the area, would stay in one of the other highly rated campsites in the area.

Beautiful campground on the edge of mountainous Vercors region. Many hiking possibilities. Spacious sites, beautiful views. The camping restaurant offers a modest but good menu with good food.
