Looking for a peaceful getaway in the middle of nature? This cosy little cottage in beautiful Österlen is the perfect spot to slow down and recharge. Tucked away on the edge of a forest area, it offers plenty of privacy, silence and fresh air – and with a bit of luck you might spot deer or other wildlife at dusk right by the tree line.

The cottage is simple, practical and ideal for a small family or a couple of friends. There are two compact bedrooms, each with bunk beds (one of the beds is 70 cm wide, perfect for a child), plus a living room with a sofa bed and a handy kitchen corner. Everything you need for easy holiday living is close at hand. From the dining area you step straight out onto the sunny, south‑facing wooden terrace – the best place to start your day with a freshly brewed coffee or end it with a relaxed dinner in the evening light.

If you like to stay active, you’ll love the surroundings. There are beautiful cycling routes and hiking trails nearby, so you can explore the rolling landscapes of Österlen at your own pace. Fancy a bit of fishing? Head to Lake Gyllebosjön (fishing licence required), or pack a picnic and ride a rail bike along the old railway between S:t Olof and Gyllebo – a fun outing for all ages.

Within a 20‑minute drive you reach Simrishamn, with its charming streets, small shops and maritime harbour. Along the coast, picturesque fishing villages like Skillinge, Brantevik, Kivik and Vitemölla are strung together like pearls and are definitely worth a visit. Families can spend a playful day at Tosselilla Summerland in Tomelilla, while culture and history lovers shouldn’t miss Glimmingehus medieval castle, the mystical Ale’s Stones in Kåseberga and the coastal national park Stenshuvud.

After a day full of adventures, it’s wonderful to come back to your quiet cottage, fire up the stove or grill, and enjoy local delicacies from one of the many farm shops in the area out on your terrace. About 40 metres away there’s a similar cottage that can also be rented (04701), ideal if you’re travelling with a larger group but still want your own space. This is a simple, nature‑rich holiday base where you can truly unwind and enjoy everything Österlen has to offer.
