Looking for a cosy hideaway in nature with your crew? This lovely holiday cabin in Solåsgrenda, in the southern part of the Skrim mountains, is made for small groups of friends who want peace, views and the outdoors right on the doorstep.

The cabin sleeps up to 6 people. There are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with a single bed. In the living room you’ll find a comfy double sofa bed, and there’s an extra mattress on the loft – ideal for that one friend who never minds a quirky sleeping spot. The bathroom has a shower and underfloor heating, so you’ll step onto a warm floor after a refreshing wash. The kitchen is well equipped, so cooking together is easy, whether you’re making a big breakfast before a hike or a late-night snack after a day outside.

In the living room there’s a TV without channels, but you do have free WiFi. Just log in to your own streaming services like Netflix and enjoy movie nights together. There’s also a selection of board games ready for long, lazy evenings around the table.

Outside, the cabin sits on a sunny, secluded plot at the end of a dirt road, with a beautiful view over Svarstad. There’s a spacious terrace and several seating spots around the cabin, plus outdoor furniture and a barbecue. You get morning sun in the southeast and evening sun in the west-northwest – perfect for slow coffees at sunrise and drinks at sunset.

The surroundings are a paradise for outdoor lovers. The hiking terrain is fantastic, with well-marked trails for both summer and winter. Nearby lakes offer good fishing, and in summer the area is full of cloudberries and blueberries to pick. There’s a popular viewpoint close by, and the local wildlife is rich – you might spot roe deer, elk, hare or fox during your stay.

In winter, you’ll find great cross-country skiing right in the area. Prefer downhill? Kongsberg ski centre is only about 30 km away. For a day trip with some city vibes, shops, restaurants, water parks and other activities are within a short drive in Drammen, Hvittingfoss and Kongsberg.

Do note: there is a toll fee of NOK 80 to enter the cabin area. Once you’re there, you’ll have your own peaceful base in the middle of nature – ideal for a relaxed and active escape with friends.
