General information

Looking for a magical place to escape with friends? This spacious Moroccan Bell Tent is hidden in a private woodland on the Hampshire/Berkshire border near Newbury – the perfect off‑grid glamping spot for a small group that loves nature, campfires and starry nights.

Your six‑metre bell tent is bright, airy and styled with Bedouin touches: colourful rugs, soft cushions and a comfy double bed, plus fold‑out Z beds that can be used for extra adults or kids. There’s an indoor wood burner to keep you warm on cooler evenings and a decked seating area outside where you can chill with a drink, chat late into the night or simply listen to the sounds of the forest.

You’ll have your own nearby toilet, shower and sink for privacy and comfort. All the basics are taken care of: bedding, towels, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and a fire pit are ready for you. Bring your own wood, charcoal and tea lights to create that extra‑cozy campfire vibe.

The site is completely off‑grid, so there’s no electricity in the tent – ideal if you really want to switch off. Need to charge your phone? No problem, the owners are happy to help in their house. Outside, the private woodland is your playground: follow secret paths, discover wood sculptures and keep an eye out for local wildlife. It’s a brilliant setting for groups and also great if you’re bringing children, who can build camps, play on the tyre swing and collect fallen branches for the fire.

You’re staying in Woolton Hill, a friendly village with a shop, post office and three pubs within walking distance, plus a monthly village market. It’s a great base for days out: visit Highclere Castle (known from Downton Abbey), wander through the National Trust nature reserve The Chase, have a flutter at Newbury Racecourse or take a canal boat trip to Hungerford.

With scenic walking and cycling routes starting right from the site, you won’t always need the car. Just step out of the tent and explore the countryside together. Do keep in mind: there are free‑roaming birds and dogs on the site, so animals may wander past your tent – perfect if you love a bit of farm‑style chaos, less ideal if you prefer a totally animal‑free stay.

If you’re after a relaxed, back‑to‑nature break with your crew, this woodland bell tent glamping is a unique place to reconnect, unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
