Stay away from here! Even 1 star is too much.
Beautiful location, but otherwise a huge disappointment

The location on the edge of the forest is beautiful, but that’s really where it ends for us. The campground itself is barren and lacks atmosphere, with hardly any trees or greenery. The pool isn’t very inviting either: a bare plot of land surrounded by a fence.

If you’re thinking of buying a trailer here: read the contract very carefully before you invest your money. In our experience, the terms and conditions heavily favor the campground. According to the terms, the campground can terminate your stay without needing to provide a clear reason, while you may face a penalty if you leave early. Furthermore, you won’t get your paid site fee back just like that.

On top of that, electricity and water are exceptionally expensive. So you’re paying a hefty sum to stay here, while as a caravan owner you have remarkably little security.

We also found the atmosphere striking. Regular police presence on the grounds and many permanent residents gave the place more of the feel of a residential community than a recreational campground. To put it somewhat dramatically: the atmosphere sometimes reminded us more of a slum than a vacation park.

The surroundings are beautiful, but for us, that absolutely doesn’t make up for the way guests are treated here and the otherwise dreary atmosphere of the campground itself.

The campground has changed its name to Forest Resort Lanaken, but everything else remains the same.

Blijf hier weg!

A midweek stay in a safari tent.
In a quiet spot on the campground and equipped with plenty of amenities; we received a warm welcome.
This was an extra challenge for us since my son uses an electric wheelchair. We had prepared based on the photos online; with a 1m20 foldable ramp, he was able to enter the 4-person safari tent without any problems. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our glamping adventure. We were asked several times if everything was okay, which showed great care and attention. Thank you!

Bedankt !

Lots of upbeat music that's pretty loud. But there's a great atmosphere. The food is delicious.

Great atmosphere and mountain bikes for rent. Beautiful natural surroundings for mountain biking—we really enjoyed it. A fun bouncy castle and wading pool for our toddler. And Maastricht is right around the corner!

The campground consists almost entirely of long-term campers living in permanently installed trailers. We were the only campers in a motorhome. The reception was friendly and courteous; only the long-term campers had a problem. Our assigned site was a walkway for the permanent campers. They were constantly weaving their way right past our RV, our chairs, and our table. To top it all off, while we were having dinner, we were disturbed by a car with a trailer pulling in (maneuvering to within a meter of our table. That’s not exactly friendly—they could have at least asked if parking there was a problem, but no, we were even berated and insulted.
The assigned parking area is unkempt, and there was trash lying around.
The restroom facilities are quite old and aren’t cleaned regularly. There’s no toilet paper, so you have to bring your own; the dishwashing area is an outrage—no hot water.
We couldn’t find a service station for gray water disposal or chemical toilet disposal, not even on the site map.
And all of this for a camper with an electrical hookup and two people for €45 per night. That’s a complete rip-off of foreigners.
The bottom line is: The campground is only for long-term campers. It’s not suitable for short-term campers—maybe they’re not interested in that. We definitely won’t be coming back.
